Good to hear your geeting the hang of it on your 4m. If you want my advice, stay out on your PKD as much as possible. Gain some valubale skills and when you are confident on the board go and get a Depower kite. Something like an Ozone Access 10m. This should get you moving in about 10+ mph on short grass.
Hope that helps.
personally i dont like too much grip on the sole. just so i can slide easy on the launch and not dig in or run forward.
so a cheap pair of skater shoes is what i use.
Carl ive gotta say... i am well impressed dude. That looks really stable and the camera is the right way up.
Hope you dont mind but i think im gonna rob your idea and see if i can knock myself up one of them.
Thanks for sharing mate
My first kite for landboarding was a 4m Hq Beamer, second hand from a guy in Cambridge. (Ebay bargain) Didnt mind crashing into the ground a few times coz it was only cheap
As soon as i got the hang of the basics i moved up to a new 6.5 blade V.
i learnt depower on my 11m 2012 frenzy. imo its not too much of a beast in sensible wind, with light bar pressure and quick to turn.
some of my mates fly 11m 2009 frenzy which is a more powerful kite but slower and heavier.
EKS Wallop relocated kite festival this coming weekend should have Flysurfer kites for demo.
Wallop Relocated Kite Festival September 2012

I am a member of the stopsley flyers. And it is a great place to fly when its not waterlogged
