  1. Yes gusts can hurt, YouTube Bradwell kiting, the vid is 55 secs long, its an 8.5m blade in gusty winds and may or may not be me flying it ; )
  2. Headed out yesterday with a mate and Pansh Ace 5m and Flux 2m. Went to the local field and there wed a fella there already in his buggy, got chatting amd ha offered us a homemade buggy (based on a Flexifoil) for 80 quid. Unfortunately had to decline as it was too big for him and I'm even shorter : (. Got the Flux out and had a fly for a few minutes, loads of pull when you want it but not enough for some real static fun. So pack away the Flux and out with the Ace. Launch, 15mph and accelerating scud, killers, drag kite back to stake, pack Ace away, unpack Flux, I know my limits.
  3. Nah, I have my current quiver of Blade 8.5m, Ace 5m and Flux 2m with 2x sets of lines, 2x pairs of handles, 2x pairs of killers, ground stake, strope and quadfoil (cheap) harness in/on my Blade backpack lol!
  4. I'm relatively new to kiting too (started last Sept and didn't fly all winter). I mastered kite control first, then scudding, then playing at the top of the window (to avoid to many supermans), now still learning to jump. My biggest so far is 6ft which I really messed up (superman) and ended up with 2 sprained ankles and a very sore heel (still hurts now 6 weeks later). Get a bigger (4m +) lift kite, Blade, Ace, Twister, fly as often as you can (in low winds to start with) and you'll soon get the feel of it. If you don't have the cash for a one of the above kites, me and my mates have managed to jump a 4m trainer kite and a 4m Rhombus Firebee in highish winds (highest being about 3ft).
  5. I'm with frozenskys, permanent markers would probably be ur best bet, remember the ink will probably bleed into the fabric so experiment first on some identical fabric. I may experiment on my 2m Flux.
  6. Cheers peeps, luckily I couldn't pay over the phone before the kites were delivered so the driver was paid. Had a little session with the free 2m Flux, nice little kite (looks absolutely pants though IMO), pulled me to my feet from sitting on the ground with a downwards swoop in light wind.
  7. I've ordered a bunch of Pansh kites and they are in the country ready for delivery tomorrow. My father (the address they're going to) received a call from dhl a little while ago saying some duty needs to be payed before the package will be delivered! Anyone else experienced this?
  8. Those jumps are mental! What size were you using and what wind speeds?

    buggy tricks

On my first ever proper buggy sesh I managed to power slide, go two wheeled, mono on the front wheel, ride backwards, 180 and 360 (all unhooked). Ok every move was involuntary and completely uncontrolled but my 5 years experienced mate (who's gear I was using, flexi buggy and Blade IV 6.5) found it highly entertaining (was pissing himself).
  10. Yeah I think there's a lot of hype about them spanking people but if you treat it with respect and take time to learn it's characteristics they're fine.
  11. I got my first proper go on my new (to me) Blade III 8.5 m this evening. Fook me it's a massive leap from my 10m X-Air. Wind was 15-20mph. The lift was amazing, straight up to the zenith, crank it to the right, over to the left with a lil' run and WHOOMPH!!! About 3ft of air, proper smooth, legs straight and together, nice gentle landing, massive grin on my face. That however was my only decent jump, the rest were all over the shop, absolutely covered in mud and was pulling grass out me pants later on lol. I've got the AAA bridle kit but haven't fitted it yet as I planned to tonight but wanted more flying time whilst the sun was still out.
  12. Lol, I will be flying the Blade on handles, I just wanna know if the bar will work if I fancy it from time to time.
  13. I'm selling my Air Evolution X-Air 10m to fund a Blade III 8.5m. I've had an offer on the kite only leaving me with the bar and lines. Can I use these on the Blade?
