  1. Thats great Morb. We're always looking for highly gifted persons Wanna join us? Just send an email and we're getting back to you ASAP...
  2. I'm on my iBook since 2003, and haven't had any viruses so far. Mac OSX are unix based systems and quite safe. As long as u aren't downloading hacked apps, you don't need to be in a fear from my point of view. Just turn on os x's built in firewall, its more than you need, its in system preferences>sharing. You can also do this free online-security check and test your mac with it: SYMANTEC-SAFETY-CHECK
  3. As some of you know, I'm producing a new film together with my brother. "streamlined 08" was quite good, and we try to connect to it's success with airstripped.com The new film will be kind of an aerial xtreme sports documentary and it's planned to release the whole thing on DVD at the end of 2010 (or early 2011). Today we published the acro paragliding teaser. Some of the kitecrowders here are paragliders too or at least extremesports addicted - I hope you enjoy it
  4. http://www.bilderhoster.at/upload/mrizf1277460903.jpg Update: Just a little more patience... The production samples are already on it's way. They put the finishing touches on the packings at the moment. The Method will be hell of a kite, approx. 2 more months to go, and we can place our orders mates Keep an eye on the Ozone News, or subscribe (RSS) to the Landkite Newsletter to stay up to date. http://www.bilderhoster.at/upload/nbcdt1277461310.jpghttp://www.bilderhoster.at/upload/rskkq1277460935.jpg http://www.bilderhoster.at/upload/uqroh1277462208.jpg
  5. Some of you might be couriously waiting for it's release as I am doing it. So I share the infos I got Rob Witthall, Ozones leading Kite designer, gave an interview in the latest issue of Kite&Friends about the "Method". The design is fixed and the sizes are so far 2.3 / 3.0 / 4.0 / 5.0 / 6.5 The aspect ratio of the Method will be 4.2 The profile generates good speed and is very stable. In the tests it was not far behind the Yakuzas. Regarding this interview, the Method will be a nice, well to handle Intermediate between Flow and Yak. Ozone is still working on it, but they should be ready for delivery from Vietnam Factory soon. Can't wait to get my hands on one of these! http://www.bilderhoster.at/upload/csqrx1276711943.jpg
  6. The Ozone Access XC is a great kite for getting into depower. Choose the size depending on the area you're living/kiting and the winds you mostly have there. The 6m covers a good and big wind range. From my point of view the 8m stop to be fun for beginners after 10kts, while the 6m is still good to handle, even in gusts and higher winds. You'll also need a Harness for Depower Kiting. I prefer the Ozone XC Harness, it's like a rock climbing harness and doesn't slip all the way up to your chest. Love my Frenzy FYX in 9m BUT I also have a Flow in 4m and a Yakuza on handles. Handlekites are more precise to control, which is sometimes an advantage when you're on an ATB. Depowers better to jump. It might be no mistake to purchase a 5m Flow or similar kite after the IMP, before making the step to (expensive) depower, as the IMP is really easy to handle and very forgiving. Last but not least: ask a dealer near you for testing the kites you're interested in to buy next!! Or even talk to helpful kitecrowd members here and meet them, I'm sure you can fly their's and get a better knowledge, if you friendly ask them. Fly before you buy Edit: LEI's are also great for Landboarding, but as you've mentioned the risk of braking them is always there, especially when you're a beginner this could become quite expensive. Using them on beaches is more safe than flying them on grassland.
  7. Thanks mooncat, thats the answer to my questions
  8. So how is the 3.4 windjammer? Are there huge differences between the 2.7 and the 3.4? How much would you take for the 3.4? Pls pm me some details if you like. Windjammer: I have a Frenzy FYX and know the advantages of Depower well. But I also like to fly Handle-Kites, specially the Yak. That's why I'd like to upgrade my size range of them. Thanks for your contribution.
  9. Hey Kitecrowders, I was wondering if somebody has flown both of them on an ATB and can tell me if there is really a large difference regarding pull/stability etc between them, or if they're quite similar. I just know my 2.2 and I'm looking for an size upgrade, but can't decide. Wind is mostly around 10 kts and sometimes pretty gusty too http://www.bilderhoster.at/upload/mrpuw1270994617.jpg I love the 2.2 cause it's fast and easy to handle, but sometimes just to low powered for boarding and needs to be looped all the time... Soooo, what would be your size suggestion, 3.4 or 4.0 ? Any help is much appreciated. Thanks a ton dudes!
  10. If u break it down, how much for the Primo Alfa Light tyres with tubes on Blue Earth hubs with bearings?
  11. bump for some great foils!
  12. The Ozone Access XC is a Depower Kite - which requires a Bar to be flown well As he posted, he's selling it RTF (Ready To Fly). Everything makin u happy should be included so
  13. I guess Ozone will come up with a new Intermediate/freestyle Fixed Bridle soon, as there are only the Flows and the Yak's at moment, and nothing between exept the former models which were all quite good, and from outstanding quality. Specially last point is another reason why I fly them. But as the most things in life - brands are (not only, but quiet often) still a matter of taste Who knows, maybe there's a redesigned Samurai, Haka, Cult or even Riot on the way? Like every other manufacturer they are trying to increase their products, and don't sell the same thing for years, even if it was a good one. I'd still drive my old VW Beatle from 1976, if it would be originally prodcued again However....Sorry Jake - back to topic
  14. bash, my comments on the crossfire are not harsh, they are true experience - and not just mine. further the haka WAS and still IS a good kite for people knowing how to handle it.
  15. Ozone Flow 4.0/ 5.0 (Advanced Beginners/Intermediates) Ozone Haka 5.0 (freestyle-performance) lift = Ozone Cult 5.5/6.5 (performance-intermediate) all good for boarding/static That's what I recommend so far, if u are perfect familar with ur 3M Beamer. Flow and Cult 6.5 are also good in light winds, Haka needs to be a bit more powered on. Remember theese kites stop to be funny/safe over 20kts, of course depending on how well u can handle them. Cult's and Haka's are on (bargain)sale now at Surface Tension. HAKA and CULT Last but not least, don't forget about the Depower option In that case I'd suggest an Access XC for gettin into... Another way to find out what fits u, is to meet a local dealer (to test some different ones before u finally buy) and of course other kiters in ur area.
  16. I would never suggest a crossfire II. no matter which size. What u should go for, depends on a few more things. F.e. on how much u want to spend and also on ur experience. Are u looking for a new one, or are u happy with a used one too? Have u ever flown any other kites than ur Beamer so far? If yes, which ones, and did u like/not like them? Are u familar with ur Beamer in higher winds too?
  17. thanks braddels! glad to hear that. of course ppl u can invite ur air addicted friends for joining too... our first teaser will be up very very soon! feedback appreciated Blue Skies, sista
  18. hmmm... maybe uv got some other gear, u can rise funds for the frenzy with?
  19. I totally agree with Bigbud!
  20. Jake, in my opinion there are lot's of kites out there, which are much better and much more fun to fly than a (8.0) Crossfire. If u want it for buggying, I'd say give it a try, but for boarding and static flying I'm definitely not recommending it. Specially as an upgrade from your recent flying Beamer. Are there any other Kiters in ur area?
  21. According to HQ, there is only one generation of Crossi's II out. I know because I asked them for changing my kite (July 2009) into a newer generation one, and that's what they answered to me. Even the only kite store in Vienna stopped selling them because of the bridle problems, that never could be solved completly. Anyway, glad to hear yours is flying well
  22. Have u thought about an 4 or 5m Ozone Flow? fits to static flying as well as boarding. A good kite to follow your Beamer. I can't recommend HQ Crossfire's. Ownd a 4m CF II and to be honest it was the worst kite I've ever flown. It even was hard to find a 2nd hand buyuer for it. After lot's of tuning on the bridle (adviced from the original HQ kite designer) I found a way to beat the all time stalling and collapsing in the smallest gusts. At the end it was a high pulling, but still unstable kite in medium winds, and absolutely no fun to fly with. Problems I've never had with all my Ozone Kites. Why are u looking for an 6/8m one? Searching for a light wind weapon?
  23. thanks to beth and the other guys!! kite crowders are definitely reliable
  24. Hey dudes, we just set up our facebook film page and are happy about every air or extreme sports addicted fan who joins us! airstripped.com | Facebook Would be great to have some kite crowders up there too!! Thanks a ton! http://www.bilderhoster.at/upload/shnbh1262798232.gif p.s: beside our homepage and the film-blog the facebook site is used to be another platform to inform the people out there about our upcoming film!
  25. Most airlines carry Golf clubs for free, while Kite gear is often charged So be careful and make sure about the costs before boarding, or try to use one of theese bags My suggestion: wrap some normal clothes around your board and bars to protect them. kites in the bags as usual. lid and pump(?) can be carried as hand luggage too - to save some space in your big bag. have a good time in fuerteventura!
