  4. Learnt to Kitesurfing from advice from complete strangers who love the sport, launching, landing and generally giving advice in a nice way - I even once crashed my kite into someone, apologised and he even re-launched me. Kite surfers generally want to promote the sport and enjoy the fact new people are taking it up. Thought I would have a go a surfing, so I brought a board and went to the marked learner section of the beach. Ended up bumping into some jumped up prick with his mates playing the hard man, thinking he was mustard I explained he should get out of the learner section or at least appreciate he was surfing with learners . After he continued to be a prick I told him to swim in and we would settle it on the beach. I have been surfing since and notice that surfers are generally more closed and rude, probably due to the fact a set of half decent waves is rare, and when they do come 60 people are attempting to get it at once. When I see a learner I avoid them best as possible and appreciate that Kitesurfing at first is hard.
  5. Hi Mate, I have 09 Fuel and they are wicked. I haven’t flown any other kites so I don’t know any better but 5 stars from me. I think they look the business when there up! I herd good thing about the Wainman kites, they seem expensive but a few people ride them at South-end and sing there praises. One guy have been riding for donkey’s years and updates his kites yearly, he said there so good he’s going to keep his 09 quiver for another year.
  6. Just learn to body drag. I have never used one and tobe fair have come close to losing my board. However, my mate used a board leash until he hit a sand bar, the board stopped while he kept going, when the board leash hit full tension it broke free of the sand and hit him in the leg. Ruined a new billabong wetsuit and cut his leg open, 15 stitches open!
  7. If the 7m has'nt gone, email at Jamesjohnfox@googlemail.com - price and a pic if you have them.
  8. I do kitesurf correct. I’m not recommending that SnakeEyed gets a fuel and use’s it above the wind range that is suitable for land boarding with a kite of that size. I just feel that if used correctly fuels are excellent. I agree that bow kites lead people into a false sense of security. I spent last summer in Tarifa a noticed the people who where out of control tended to be flying bow’s rather than c kites. However, maybe that’s because bow’s are recommend to beginners….. I guess I can’t comment properly as I have never flown a bow kite.
  9. Am I missing something here? I have three fuels 9, 11 and 13. When I decided to kite surf I brought fuels because at the time I know nothing about kites what so ever…. So I knew no better. Probably not the best kites to learn with but I still learnt with them. I have never injured myself at all. Why do people seem to think they will drag you all over the shop and nearly kill you??? I find them stable, predictable and thus safe.
  10. Northern I have sent u a pm
  11. message sent
  12. I’ve used a few harnesses. Mystic seat harness was crap, not comfortable and rides up so you can’t breath. Dakine waist harness (no spreader bar rid above the harness and rested on ribbs) So after messing around with cheap crap I bit the bullet and I brought a North air styler 2009, made kite boarding so much nicer! No riding harness, no spreader bar digging into my ribs just pure comfort. So my advice is make sure you buy a decent harness with a big spreader pad. Honestly makes all the difference to your experience and day.
  13. still have the fuel? Whats its color?
  14. Where is the wind this weekend??? Anyone know?
  15. Hi, I have a 12m Red and Black 2005 5 line Naish Raven for sale. I brought this kite when I wanted to learn….. It severed me well and now I have moved on to newer stuff. I always washed down the Kite and dryed after every session. Good Points: Bar and Lines our in great condition and come with bar bag. Kite Bladders our good and hold air fine. (Single pump system on the Raven) Bad: At one point in the kites lifetime it was damaged. It has a professional repair on the canopy, which span’s from the leading to the back of the canopy (can be seen in picture). This was not done not by me and tobe honest has been repaired with care (stiched both sides on the canopy). It blends in well. The Kite also has a few small patches from very small holes. Expected from a kite of this age (better repaired than left I say). All in all it’s a really good kite, wicked if you want a kite to learn without spending big money, or good if you want to add a extra kite to your collection. The kite comes with original bag and it’s in great condition. However, the small top compartment zip is missing (not really a problem). Make me an offer. Will post but pick-up would be easiest (Watford)
  16. Ok, sorry I didn’t realise…. I'll put my kite in the for sale section. I’ll give you 10p to keep your shitty jokes out of the Kitesurfing section.
  17. The Kite is 2005 I checked.
