  3. I would wait until someone has some more news. I still have no kite and no answers to my emails. Gonna phone him now and will let you know if i get a reply
  4. I still have nothing and its been 6 weeks now - if anyone has any update can you please post something on the forum; I know Andy is usually a solid guy but maybe something has happened...
  5. I spoke to one of the locals last night - he confirmed its not a good place to try kiting as we suspected
  6. Ye sof course PM me anytime - i guess you spoke to max at MF kite!
  7. Hi I Live about 30 mins away from La Lavandou so can give you some local info if you like! I have never been kiting there as I am not sure what the wind is like - but looking on the forums it looks like its quite popular onshore wind but can be a bit choppy; it may be a problem in as it get so busy in August . I normally go to Almanarre which has the same problem - too many tourists but if you go to the far end there are enough kiters to keep the crowds away I might take a drive down there this weekend and see what it like - the wind is forecast high 20's but its a good excuse to go and check out the beach Cheers
  8. Same here - sent the kite and paid the invoice; and Andy promised to send the kite back several weeks ago but nothing has arrived, and no answer to my emails. Would appreciate it if anyone else has some info. ?????
  9. Hi Just came back from Sarigerme and had a look at the beach There is a guy there running a kite surf school on the main beach so i had a good chat with him; he rents all the equipment including boards etc and he has F1 kites; and he suggested that my 9m might be a bit small but when i was there it would have been no problem with the 9m - i think this is because he wanted me to rent his 11-12m kites The wind is always cross shore, and downwind there are the swimming areas for some of the more expensive hotels so he told me that if I could not surf upwind then we wouldn't let me on 'his' beach - but to be honest i watched him all afternoon and he didnt seem to be too good at coming back upwind so he just landed and walked back up the beach anyway - but to be safe i kind of agree with him as there is a jetty a few hundered meters downwind which could be kind of tricky The beach was empty - the wind was good if a little gusty - lots of room to land and launch - so when i go back later this year I will definately take my gear with me I have a leaflet on the school etc so if you want any details just PM me Cheers
  10. Hi is the 9,5m still for sale thanks
  11. Hi Is the kite still for sale? thanks
  12. For info Just logged on a tried the kite-exchange site; everything seemed to work ok.
  13. True - it's busy but it is only 5 minutes from home.... early mornings and some evenings there are only 2 or 3 people on the whole 4km beach; so it does have its good points
  14. Just thought I would share a picture of l'Almanarre beach this weekend; wind was awsome but the beach WAS a little busy!!!
  15. Just wanted to know your thoughts on the Crossbow II 9m; I bought a 2007 as my first kite (no not from ebay ) so its hard for me to compare it against anything else; I don't see many of them around so just wondered why its not so common. Does it have a bad reputation or is it just an "older" kite now. Its taken some punishment but is holding up ok so far; I think that next year I will buy another kite to replace it so if anyone has an 09 model I would be interested to see what they think of it.
  16. Hi Just saw this post - I live 10 mins from Almanarre and your right; its a great spot. Just one point., you can fly direct from stanstead to Hyeres also, from Bristol in the summer so the airport is literally 10 mins from the beach; no need for the 1.5hours from Nice Cheers
  17. I couldn't agree more - they did a great job on my Crossbow and only cosy 10 quid posting to France!!
  18. Just heard that he has pulled out due to a neck injury - there are going to be a lot of people asking for a refund! I heard that ticket sales were up 40% due to his return - ouuch; shame though it would have been good to see
  19. Take a look at south of France The beach L'Almanarre near Toulon - 1.5 hours from italian border and lots to do; all the tourists will be gone and we can get the beach back in 2 or 3 weeks! Also some really good lake locations less than 1 hour away
