Just a quick thread on Redirection....
Ive got the pendulum jump sorted with a single redirection.... allowing me to float back down..
However i would like to get some more air time and control it more.... i know practice will be the best advice but i was just wondering if putting another redirection in will add more air time.....and if so.... any advice on the technique.
cheers
I've been flying a Rage 3.5 for some time now and to be honest i did not think that they were capable of those kinds of jumps.... I've got air (and grass ha ha) in high winds but looks like you have that one mastered....
Just out of interest i weigh approx 15 1/2 stone.....are you near that?
The smallest was an evo trainer 2m in 25 ish mph.... only thing was it comes with 110kg dyneema, and i weigh a little to close to the magical breaking weight...... snap and face plant ha ha ha ha
but it managed to let me jump and hold in the air for a second or two......
Thanks for the replys. Gonna swap line ends and try what has been advised. I also use the lines on my BIV 4.9 for jumpin so will be keepin an eye on them. No buggy yet but it will come . . . . . .
Hi - been flying a set of lines 'Flexifoil Standard 200/100' and there are now wear marks 10 feet up the lines where they cross when flying.
The wear is minimal and i know that i need to keep an eye on any line wear as they are crucial to safe flying...
However i was just going to ask if anyone has any info on extending the life of the lines....
I.E Wax or and additive that will reduce friction...
Thanks
To bring it back to the ground... no pun intended.... got a scud on west kirby beach, wirral filmed.... Rage 3.5 - 18 mph ish and no shoes...
Not quite the 50 foot in the buggy tho... that was foobin massive.... and awsome that it was caught on cam....
Went back next day.... 25-27mph on metre... More speed!!!!!!!!!
Hi...
Having been flying my powerkite static for some time... im now looking at getting some wheels under me... im lucky enough to live on the paradise pennincula (about 10 min from Hoylake and WKirby).
I think with having the beach at my doorstep the natural progression will be buggies.... could you give me some advice when and where is the best time to go and introduce myself to try and get involved in what i must have spent ages watchin from north parade.
Chris
cheers really appreciating all the posts..... lookin forward to the weekend to try and pull at least one of these moves off without pulling myself across the grass like superman's stunt double!!! ha...
Went out again today had some luck with the wing tip tap and it was nice to use to be able to rest my arms at the edge... ha ha ha.... the box really shows how the 4 line kites operate....
things didn't go exactly to plan later on tho.....
was scudding in a pair of boots that suddenly gripped... nice grass burn on my right elbow.....
taken me back to my rugby days when loosing skin was a regular thing....
but what an awesome kite... its an upgrade from a 2 metre radsail and the difference is some thing which needs to be respected!!!!
hi - i'm the new proud owner of a rage 3.5 and having had it out in some good windy situations... (20 plus mph) i have experienced the awesome pull that this kite has.....
However i'm looking to progress from steering it around the window, to try and learn some funky moves that will really allow me to appreciate this kite.
Anybody out there who could pass on some knowledge.
