  1. Mate I am into some training also, some times I have max weight days to train my nerve system. After that your body is in small shock - no wonder you are all over the place . Rest! And if you did legs .... your hip was to tired - face plants Or maybe you were just to excited. M
  2. Usually there are info asked 10000001 times, so sticky threads are like FAQ. In my experience, most valuable info is from people who just learned to do something. Because they still have very fresh memory of things they did wrong, so I think this would be very nice info for beginners. M
  3. Please STICKY it! Mate, how tight are you straps? I seem to can't find best set up. Have big set back, finger that I injured surfing is broken . No water M /bow
  4. Nice to hear about your progression am couple of steps behind, will be easier to pick up M
  5. Hi mate, I learn there also, ppl always help and Red Baron is helpfull. If you see me with still shiny Cabrhina convert 12m in water trying to get on board Come say hi as it will be me. Maigais, think will go down to Midletton tomorrow.
  6. If one can hurt himself with leash on surf board, there is about million times more things that can go wrong while kiting. So no leash fro me.
  7. So of I went for holiday, got kite with me. Did not had chance to kite surf over these holidays as much as wanted either no wind or not a safe place or to many people at beach. I might be to careful but it pays off ... Learned following things 1) Always check locals about beaches to surf, otherwise perfect spot might have razor fish and shark. pict #1 2) Check about 1km down a beach for any hazards or suddenly electricity line might be freaking close, specially if you just getting on board give plenty of distance for errors. 3) Always depower if you are not in control, do not try to safe kite! Pict #2 4) Do not try to get your foot dead in board, just stick them in. 5) Ask your instructor how to land kite in strong wind if no one is around. 6) Get surf board for days without wind but big waves. Pict #3 7) DO NOT GET LEASH, i almost broke my finger learning how to surf, leash looped around small finger -ouch. I managed to do my first 100 meters on board. Seems that decent amount of snowboarding has big advantage. We finally get some decent wind in adl will kite surf every day.
  8. I have one link for you www.crossfit.com I am doing it for a year now - can do anything. Wednesday had Complete as many rounds in twenty minutes as you can of: 15 Pull-ups 15 Ring push-ups 15 Back Extensions 15 GHD Sit-ups then went to privet kick box class and finished off with nice 3hrs session of learning kite surfing. Crossfit will develop your body so you can do any sport. For kite surf you will have great strong back, core and very well developed hip. as for food, I recommend zone diet also i strongly recommend to learn to do proper air squat and do that one to develop your hip and leg strength, it will be much better for kite surfing then bike you can add some skipping rope, walking lunges, thrusters to get your hip fit
  9. true true, well I hope I can go and have lesson at proper wind, otherwise all I hear - it's not you, it's wind
  10. I just asked how it is dangerous. I can figure out on my own how surf type leash is dangerous, but I do not have enough experience to figure out that one. I agree that is noob question and may been discussed zilions of times. I just find better to ask then pretend to be smart. And I do not want to justify something - learn, ask questions and find out. So maybe sticky it. Unfortunately I do not find my instructor top notch.
  11. Can anyone comment on http://www.oceanustech.com/ please, why they are dangerous?
  12. see I work from 7am till there is wind so I should not really complain, but some days event that feels like slavery.
  13. bad vid, makes me want to quit my job today
  14. Nice one, seem like nice place to spend ones days
  15. Folks I totally understand that leash like one used with surfboard is dangerous. I also seen picts what happens. Am not going to use that one. I am talking about this one http://www.oceanustech.com/ this one doesn't come back, as said saw and touched one yesterday, and that thing just can't pull it back you have to do it. Seemed to be good idea to use at beginning, if this one is still dangerous then yes I will continue to learn to drink ocean water. Body dragging against 20+ knot wind is not much phun
  16. so today after weeks wait wind arrived, well it arrived yesterday but that was +25knots at 11 wind dropped down to 16 knots for about hour, and to beach I went. Set up everything in not time, thought to fly kite for hour and then try to use board. after 1hr dragging and fighting with wind, I was sure I do not need board as I will loose it in 5 mins. practiced some more body dragging and kite control with one hand and was tired as dog came home, apparently as I went into water winds where 20+ knots, seem bit harsh Also I talked to someone who had board on leash, that line can come out for about 20m, seemed a good idea.
  17. i guess inner entity thnx, will see how next year will start then make decision
  18. Couple question 1) how long drive from Melbourne 2) what is latest to sign up
  19. Def would be interested, maybe you could post a google link to see where it is
  20. mate I am 95kg and got myself a 12m kite week ago, very good for me I got new Cabrihna convert 08 for 1200. Now just need that wind. M
  21. People are not interested in detail, they need big glowing article that something was bad. To much info is not news!
  22. pretty big one, just finished work time to pack up and go to beach
  23. So wind picked up and off I went to try my new kite. Learned couple new thing. So first 2:1 system hard on bar. Very hard with left hand (and I consider myself pretty fit) Second one - body drag, if you will go to fast and get flying, do not land on balls Third - if it's 17 knots, once you you pack together and want to get air out of kite turn around kite holding it with both hands or better screw know befor turning. Lucky I can run 400m sprint under 1min 20 sec. fun fun fun I do not mind heavy bar at 2:1, but it was just not possible control that thing with left hand. So will try 1:1 M
  24. I looked at those locks, it takes about 3 seconds to break it.... I will risk with 4 waterproof bag. M.
  25. North pull, wide. Well I will kite around adl near Largs bay, one wind will arrive.
