Mate it this the best. There are to many good things to count, every time when I am teveling around this country in campervan with my family looking for new bach and meating new ppl I think to myself how fortunate I am to be here.

Question was about what I do.... And I compared it to my trade, development and PS services, that can be exported. I just do not complain that some in india cost 7USD a hour and is competing for my job. hosting is tiny tiny bit of IT, as I have been told not to ramble about industry I do not know, I know IT. I can tell that IT doesn't consist of web design and hosting. Software as product cost same everywahre, just buy it on US server and DL it, unless you support local developer. Btw ask Tony from ral kites, how much does his hosting cost.... trust me you can not go lower. And last iTunes suck, go shop elsewere.

Oh and let me post on serice level I got in first Kite shope where I shoped before. I spent about ~4k within 4 months, new full kite gear surf board and 2 good wetties. I came back to shop, and this kid in shop just told me absolute crap. Later my mate tried to fix rip in his kite, they sticky taped his kite for 35 aud and it took 3.5 weeks. Also what amazes here in this country when ppl say to me they will call me back and never do. I have been told bmw shop that I will pull out of deal if they will tell me to call back and skip the beat. Yesteday new tv cabinet had to came in, they even did not bother to call that it has been delayed.... Had to fix roof, cash paid. Dude came to clean the roof, looked at told it's to steap. Taking money keen, working fck all. Now in process to stick solar panels on roof, do not hold my breath that this will happen in time too. This is a reason why I come back to Tony, he just doesn't do that.

I'd agree on all of those items, I did not note that only way to get savings is to buy under 1k mark. And you really have to shop around to get good deal or in my case. When ppl travel from eu, i get items delivered for free. Once again question was asked only of drastic swing in currency. Agree on that one as well. Now let me have an argument about this one. I am in works to become a citizen and truly believe that this is number one country (maybe Norway is same, but it's cold) Now everyone say how great AU is and then start to tell about hard life of cost of living etc. I will compare this with country in eu in eu general. Fuel is still cheaper here, stop driving bloody v8, food is still cheaper (I just got shitload of beef for 8 aud a kg direct from farmer), electricity is same, water etc is same. Ok phone is bit more expensive, internet is fck all insane expensive, but coming down. Ppl who just move here say that all bits for kids are much cheaper. Electronics are cheaper. Bank fees suck big time here. INCOME IS GUESS WHAT multiple multiple times higher, unemployment is so low, there has not been recession. Taxes are much lower. I have had chat with ppl in Melbourne that say that 100k income is barely enough. That is ridiculous, some ppl just do not appreciate things they have. When I came here I was working for my mate as carpet layer for 50$ a day, just to do something. Young man came to ask 2$ for food cos he could not get the job !@#$!@#$#%#$%#$%@#$%. Really take a look around, how good this country is and how good ppl live here and how much they earn. Now take all of that, more taxes fuel closing to be 2$ a liter etc etc, much less market, unemployment at ~18% and still sell bloody octane for ~900 aud. In fact you do not have to pay for heating in witer, buy winter tyers, buy winter clothes .............. You can not export plumbers work from china to AU, so this is not valid sample. I work in IT, you can export that. I do not complain, world is not fair. I work hard and do not complain about what I have to compete with. Ppl who pay my wage know that I will deliver top serivece, where India company will f... you over at any opportunity. For last 18 months I have got um 4 kites from Tony, so I have done my bit supporting local including this site.

Well that explains it much better mate. I was in strogn believe that kite industry in au is doing good after observing adelaide beaches. Lots of new ppl joing, it is getting corwded now.

Well 1) My wrong for mixing up currencies 2) I do not see anything wrong about asking question about why things cost as much if there has been such a swing. Specially when on occasion I have been explained then kite prices goes up when USD goes up. So it is just natural to ask question other way if it goes down. Kite shop then could do a better job explaining that. 3) Re growth in Adl, last year at max I saw 40 ppl out on good summer day, now all beach was packed as far eye goes. So I say doubled. 4) Currency might be pinhole, but not if swing is for ~30%. If it is 30% it is only natural to ask the question. 5) Re _ramble_ I stated at the beginning of thread, that I do not like to tell how to run business, because I am not in the market. I also _ramble_ that ppl will come up with all kind of excuses to keep prices up, just do not treat me as idiot. I do not blame them about keeping prices up, I would do same. 6) Sample about 1k(au importer price) to 600 is for Slingshot board, here and direct for oversees. Now I understand that things cost differently in different places. I do not want to buy from oversees. I want to keep supporting local shops. I come from place where manufacturing has been destroyed, I value this country and always buy local. My boxing bag at the back was +30% cos it was aussie. However there is limit when I am ready to support local. I believe it is ok to ask question not knowing in's and outs and having discussion. Sorry that it looked like rambling, because you know what do I know about world btw, I'd bay Griffin kites, you just can not demo them in ADL Maigais P.S. I had argument about currency because there was whole lot written about euro, so really do not see what’s wrong about my previous replay. Ok so materials are produced in YEN, they are still assambled in other assia, where wages is in USD. there has been swing of almost 40 cents in last 2 years. So that would cut production price by about 1/3. Futher if statement about slide in USD is right then oposite should be right to. If usd rises, kites should be cheaper...... See this is a point if USD goes up it's bad, if goes down it's bad. Just kind of doesn't make sence. When GFC hit and AUD tanked all prices got put up so quick, and never came down. I understand that importer at beach explains he did not want to let price down in case AUD drops again, now thats not a case. I follow AUD to EUR more then to USD, see I transfer cash to eu every now and then. And AUD to EUR is still higher then ever, I have not seen price drops because of that. Mind you jump in AUD to EUR is 20 cents or 25% in last two years. And please do not compare to last year, prices got put up when GFC hit. And adding to that about europe, do not let me get even started - my brother bought brand new octane 9m for 900AUD, last august from local Latvian importer, explain that! Also all companys hedge their currencies for these kind of hikes. Any numbers availible? Here in Adl in last year, kite surf have exploded drasticly. Finaly we getting more then one shop. then again maybe I'd better pay 100$ more and have empty beach At the end of the day, I wote with my wallet. Getting surfboard for about 600 shiped to adl is much cheaper then trying to buy one here for 1k EDIT!!!! I looked up AUD to YEN in Jan 2009 aud was buyin 61 Yen, now it's almoust 88, SO please please explain that!

I do not like to sepculate how ppl should earn money, but now when AUD predicted to be 115 usd cents. So question is when that will reflect in prices, right now only place were you can cash in is for BWS noises. Maigais always looking to extend amout of kites in car

Hi mate I am 6'1" and about 94kg mark been kiting for some time. But only for last 6 month wave focused. I am using 12m rebel and 6'0" verve. Very good setup for getting into it. To all of said above really go and try diffrenet gear! After this 3 days off work and surfing I have concluded that the smaller the kite the better surfing to be done. So am on my way down to ~83kg mark. Maigais
