  1. If in a kayak handles would be easier as you dont neccessarily have space on your upper body for a harness (cos your sitting and you'd want a buoyancy aid). Also if you roll hooked in it could get nasty
  2. Hi, i was flying in by robin hood gate this morning, by the way they've just cut the grass so you can now use the entire flying area:) . you get pretty gusty winds there so its worth getting a really stable kite. I've got a mk1 sabre which quite often luffs if the wind aint great. there are often a lot of bullets around and the guys on arcs seem to do quite well
  3. Think i read that bows and SLEs are the same thing- the first SLE was the cabrinha crossbow? - so thats where the term bow comes from. SLE's supposedly depower til there's almost no pull, but the kite flaps around then
  4. I use 9inch primo strikers - nice n chunky, tons of grip. Can board through knee high grass on them with some power. On the down side they are pretty heavy (think they add about 1kg over other tyres!)
  5. With the blade's bridle, does that just change the length of the brake lines or is it a more advanved change to the bridle? i.e. is it something that can be replicated on other kites by tilting the handles more? I have no doubt that bivs are wicked kites, but the PL reactor price is appealing!
  6. Anyone have experience with the larger peter lynn reactors (6.4m and 8.3m)? Wondering what they are like as low wind kites. Quite nice prices. Got a sabre1 9.5 and I could do with a kite for lower winds. Oh yeah, I'm about 70kgs.
  7. There were some decent W / NW winds about a month ago. Winds are ok at the moment but there's just so much rain! Bit of a catch 22 with the inflation sometimes cos quite often when i try to move it around to inflate it, it decides to be fickle, the tips tuck, and it deflates.
  8. Isn't that a pretty major design flaw that the sheeting in causes the flying to go to pieces a bit?!
  9. E-mailed them this morning, I'll see what they say. I do normally fly with a bit of depower on - i find that it needs a decent amount of wind before it gets in the air, so when it does, its often too powerful on max power
  10. Just checked pulleys and they're ok. I'll check bridles next time I'm out. Interested in Domindo's idea anyone else confim this?
  11. Naa no sand - it lives inland
  12. Hi My Sabre 9.5m is giving me grief - when i dive it into the power zone to get moving on the board, the tips fold and it starts to collapse. Anyone else have this and is there much that can be done? My local flying site is quite gusty but others don't seem to have the same problem. Thanks
