wow haven't seen a landyaught in years!!! although think I've seen mention of that particular one before!! can't imagine the low speed accleration would be upto much though, weighs a lot and relatvily little sheet still awesome though, think they just NEED MOAH WINDZ to beat the record as it looks more than capable of doing 115mph:cool:

balls, the size of beach balls. however I am gonna right something negative because whilst YOU may be happy with the dangers somebody (probably younger) will try it and come off badly. kiting kit really isn't designed for holding body weight + force for any real length of time, whilst YES it does hold I'm into climbing quite a bit now and really looking at kiting lines and tabs etc, they just aren't upto much not even £1k+ superkites your theory of letting him go then he'll glide back down is sound enough, however that isn't going to help if a leader breaks, or his harness fails. kudo's though, on what is probably 15-20m in height ORE MORE!!!

was just going to put another +1 in on PL arcs, cheap, plenty of them, slow flying with grunt, although annoying to set up, you'll progress quickly to something a bit quicker, but you bought the saber instead, which in hindsight, is probably the better kite you'll learn more and quicker, and won't want to upgrade anyfurther I'd imagine

any takers before ebay? seems people show interest but don't back it up

Bump, no replies guys? I PM'd you.

yup, sorry just toclarify. one of the line sleeves was starting to fray, so I kept the kite in teh house for a while (6weeks!!!) until I could get hold of a proper repair kit to replace the line end sleeve. the line inside is FINE, the new sleeve shows no signs of wear either can provide a picture if you want

Up for sale is a 2004/5 flexifoil bullet 3.5m on handles (25m AFAIK) in red/grey. Or swap for a used kiteboard, biggish and not pretty = ideal;) Been used approx 20x for a total time of maybe 30hours at a guess. Overall in excellent condition, with no scuffing/tears/decolouring or salt damage. It is VERY VERY crispy, makes a right racket with its crispy'ness. There is however a hole (properly repaired with flexi repair tape) on the backside approx 2mmx1.5mm, tiny and in no way affecting the way it flies or its integrity. (picture in link, look down) Lines and handles are also in excellent condition, no knots, fraying. however one line end has been replaced again with genuine flexi repair line ends, the line inside is fine, I replaced it has the outer had frayed slightly and didn't want the inner to be damaged. Ideal for a beginner wanting something grunty to teach them a thing or two, or for a buggier/landboarding whats included... 3.5m bullet kite flying lines & handles flexifoil kitekillers (MINT) flexi bullet bag (worn from other uses, kite stored loose in cupboard usually) genuine flexi patch kit (part of, just incase for peace of mind ) Whats NOT included... that 50p piece Heres a few pictures, and the full collection and hi res pics are at... http://s183.photobucket.com/albums/x30/brickman_photos/FlexiFoil%20Bullet%2035m/ http://i183.photobucket.com/albums/x30/brickman_photos/FlexiFoil%20Bullet%2035m/DSCF5291.jpg http://i183.photobucket.com/albums/x30/brickman_photos/FlexiFoil%20Bullet%2035m/DSCF5304.jpg http://i183.photobucket.com/albums/x30/brickman_photos/FlexiFoil%20Bullet%2035m/DSCF5297.jpg I'm looking for £120 + postage. Needs gone quick so if you have an offer PM me with it.

aah its almost done!! 144 long, 44 wide in the centre, and about 38 at the tips, although still not sure about them, I'm inserting metal coving strips in the centre sheet to stiffen up the centre 1/2 of the board, the tips are curled up a bit (leave it in the sun and humidity for 2-3days suspended between two chairs ). as for sealing it, i WAS going to fleece it adn then glass resin it, but I think the flex with shatter it pretty quick, so I'm going for the cheapest nastiest varnish I can find. prob not 100% water resistant, but still, its only got to last a few hours to get me going, then I'll buy something proper. or make a composite one
-
ah sweet, cheers for the advise. its a beginer board as I am fresh on the water so thought larger would be better, but I'm thinking its gonna be so heavy its going to be hard work. triple 6mm was another idea I had, with some metal bent strips in th centre section, then glass resined over, or deck sealant. whatever i can get my hands on really.

whats more amusing was the 20m was his FIRST kite sold to him by surfstore, now either he bullshted his way into saying he was a pro and NEEDED A 20m, or surfstore sold it to him to get more money (£700 or something daft). I also agree that if the winds low enough to need the 20, than your not gonna get anywhere. as by the time the winds strong enough for it to be any use, a smaller kite would be in its element (10-12).

just making my own board here and aiming for 144x44cm's, but not sure whether the std measurement of a board is in the middle, or at the tips? I'm copying an exile (in approx shape), more cos it looks nice than anything else! will be two sheets of 6mm ply, with some cunning bracing between the layers. OR, thinking of taking some thick (3") insulation sheeting used in cavity walls, and shaping that with a surform, then glassfibring it. either won't cost me much, but worried the ply board will flex like liquorish and weigh a tonne, and the composite board will either melt the foam, or just plain snap on first usage. any ideas? starting with where I measure it

dunna about smaller ones, but my mate has been trying to sell a lift 20m for best part of 6months now. and its not going anywhere (selling it for less than a new set of lines, and its been used like 4x!). ***** to launch ***** to fly (mega slow at that thing called turning) overflyes then stalls, then falls sideways out of the sky whilst still pulling like a train

cant imagine this hasnt been posted before, but just in case

only reason I can think is kiting gear is mean't to be pulling you UP, and this is exerting force on the bar the other way, thats the only way I can think, but then surely his 5th line would have done something, if only trail the kite behind him, maybe it wasn't connected:confused: either way, bit of a daft thing to try and he found it out the hard way:eek: -
haven't tried a climbing harness for kiting, but I would imagine that since they've been making em for hundreds of years they may fit a bit better. dangled from plenty of ledges on a climbing harness wiht no complaints. seat harness's however still ride up. I nearly lost a testicle today, got trapped right at the no turning back moment of an almighty jump, landed, safty, rolled around in the sand for about 10mins

always try it out. as different ppl with different shapes cause different effects. eg, I've tried on at least 4 waist harness's, and becuase of my shapeless figure (gut is the same as my chest, and have no hips, cos I'm not a lady:rolleyes:) they all just rode up inc the new (07?) pyro @ £75:eek: also got an old old PL seat harness, its not entirely comfy, as the whole thing slips round. as for high low, I tend to ride (land) with th kite low, possibly just cos I haven't been out in proper wind, but I just enjoy hanging off the heelside of the board relaxing:cool:

thats good to know. but what are the plastic ones fitted to then?
-
get a recoil leash, look like a minty (if rusty) idea. tried a stretchy rubber leash on my landboard and ended up getting the board hitting my knee at a funny angle at about 20mph, could barely walk off the beach that time, if I didn't have the damn stretchy thing on it would have run away down the beach and I would have just got sand rash:)

airotheropy whitburn sunderland/south shields - Martin is a legend in there, great solid advise, and stocks most things and parts, and will go out of his way to rush an order thru in time for the weekend And he does taster sessions and learning seshs for beginners where nessacery. Surfstore somewhere near billingham, co durham - i've found them to be very good, esp the seam stitching lady:cool:, but maybe a bit cold on the old sales pitch front. However a mate was sold a 20m LEI new as he was a total beginer (like never held a kite before type beginner) at massive cost with a token discount for the bag been ripped:mad: Even now we're both more experianced the 20m is a biatch to setup, use, fly, safey put down just ridiculous.
-
how do they break, and which ones? i have some attached to a 2005 (?) bullet, they are kind of octagonal in profile, and what causes them to break big gusts, bad landings, or using a strop setup, just want to avoid shards of aluminium being ripped thru my hands:p

after driving for 7weeks and 13,000miles from blightly across the middle east into mongolia, when we eventually gave up in ulan bataar (capital we were mean't to do another 3kmiles to vladivostok the other side of china but ran out of time, dough and uni was causing several of us problems), we had an option of flying Korean airlines at $850 US in big jump, or a club world seat on a BA flight from beijing for 11hours back to heathrow T4 via a mongol airlines 1hr flight at about $20:eek: (it was actually really good, best food I've ever had on an airline! and champagne!). anyway, we were SO desperate to get back to england (then as soon as we were here we wanted out again LOL) that we just HAD to fly back on BA, and have them affluently gay blokes and girly girls with miniskirts serving us strawberries and stale lasagnes:D so yeah, quality stuff please:cool: more here... http://www.slightlycliveracing.com and some piccies here.. but never finished the trip diary or got it onto a dedicated webpage, ran out of steam:( http://s108.photobucket.com/albums/n12/faster4_tec/

my mate did a pattern with retro flower pattern in er vibrant green red, and yellow, I'll see if I can find a pic, but he basically nicked the pattern from my kayak:) http://playak.com/images/drago/drago1.jpg mine is a 2005 version so has more flowers on it than this one, but you get the idea. Anyone know anywhere Icould get a decent image of something similar, as I want retro flowers on the bottom of my board:cool:

fixed bridle on handles = unhooked arc depower on bar = unhooked. why the funk would you hook in when landboarding:confused: as for tiring, thats only cos your fresh, well so am I, but I've prob been boarding for around 25hours now (well wore out a fresh set of board bearings in my time already:eek:) and my arms are NO bigger, yet my stamina is much better. never used to be able to hold my arms above my head for more than about 30secs, now I'll spend an hour going back and forth on teh board no bother:D I think the easiest way is fixie on handles though, makes for a nice hard steep learning curve:cool:

tis a pitty hot carriebean girls don't wash up. but their bikinis and beach rubbish does though:eek: magic seaweed shows west coast is often 4-6degrees warmer than east coast over winter:cool:
