Are the front and back lines supposed to be the same lenght or not for a blade 4.9? Ive had to replace with some older shorter lines and now its not flying well....thanks

Yo both my elbows are quite messed up with tennis elbow which has been caused by kitesurfing the past few years. Every time I go out it flares up badly and is a pain-literally. I know ibuprofen can help a little. I`m looking to buy new kites to see if that can help, either ones with super light bar pressure or else would switching to C kites help as it`s more of a constant pull rather than the on off power of my hybrids where all the force constantly goes through my arms from sheeting in and out-or have I got that wrong? I currently fly an 11m Rev and an Ion 2 8.5 m Thanks

You can buy and wear a kitesurf specific flotation vest. They really help with the swimming confidence issue if you get into trouble further out from the shore.

The Ion 2's are excellent all round kites, and the 8.5 and 12.5 will make a good quiver to learn on. I have the 8.5 and it's my favourite kite. In strong winds it has good depower, absorbs gusts well and boosts huge jumps.

March in Tarifa, winter 5/3 wetsuit or summer 2/2?

Anyone got experience of which glue to use to stick footpads/deck grip onto a normal surf board that I`m using for kitesurfing? The pads that I have didn`t come with the peel back paper that you usually get which you take off and expose the sticky side. I`ve tried araldite which has partly worked, but it dries quite brittle and pulls off the board fairly easily. Ideally I`d like to get glue which stays tacky that doesn`t set rock hard so you can peel it off and restick the pads or move them about,but obviously would have to be suitable for marine use. It`s the roundabout on the map on old fort road ( not ferry road as I originally posted) sorry to confuse you Ferry road is where Stormriders and the new cafe is based.

You need to head to the roundabout about half way down Ferry Rd and set up by the beach there mate. there`s been a debate recently for everyone to try and enforce that we all launch from there and keep the public and council happy. The tide times aren`t great thurs and friday ( better around low tide ). Have a good one:cool:

I was out last night half a mile along the shore from Hove kiting in Brighton and the conditions were gnarly, wind gusting to the 40`s the swell was BIG! Going by the above chart it would be the 6 ft I reckon but obviously not clean waves-was pretty hairy conditions and I was battered by the shore break at the first attempt to go out:D

7metre Atom MINT condition as I rarely use it, but is an awesome high wind kite. £250 ovno kite only thanks for looking.

Hi I have for sale an early 2007 Atom 12metre kite with lines and bar. Excellent all round kite for beginner through to intermediate level. Is in good condition but "used". There are a couple of minor scrapes on it, and the leading edge has a small nick about half a centimetre on it which has a waterproof patch over it. I have flown it like this for the past few months with no problems. Kite is red and black. I have owned this kite from new and bought it about 18 months ago. Windrange is approx 15-30mph, and the depower is excellent. Am looking for around £300 including bar and lines.

Cheers for all the posts, foils seem to definitely raise differing opinions but all of it is useful info to go away and think about and mull over a bit. The FDS that BC wrote about was what I saw on you tube and which looked really impressive and safe as it seems to collapse the kite and kill all the power which then makes for an easy stress free self land.

Thanks for everyones input please keep the info and opinions coming in! I am in no rush but am considering buying a Pulse 2 later in the year as an all rounder kite. Specifically as I have seen footage on Youtube of what looks like easy and safe self launching and landing and killing th epower completely and seeing it fall to the ground-this is important as I often seem to turn up to beaches with no one else around( more in winter than summer ) and I don`t like self landing and launching my 12m Atom as it seems 50/50 whether it all goes ok or else screws up and goes into a death spiral and the accompanying **** myself feelings. Also I am very wary of big kites tumbling down the beach and being a danger to the public. Anyone who flies Flysurfer I am really interested in your opinions on this safety launch/land side of things. I am intending to keep the Atoms cos I really like them but it would be cool for me to turn up to a beach have a solo session downwinder and then land safely and pack up off home! ps typical wind range use would be 15-30mph so from the posts so far maybe people are suggesting the 8m size would be appropriate more than the 10m for a 75kilo surfer?
