  1. happy birthday Simon have fun on the water bud it'll be a blast i reckon PCD
  2. do i sense a few wrists being slapped? Oh well, i shall prolly be making a gradual withdrawal from the forums over the next few weeks, once I have sold all my stuff. just a little note to say thanks to all the great guys down at ainsdale who have helped me out in the past with line tangles and all that newbie stuff u get into. Unfortunately my kiting days are pretty much over for at least the next 2 years due to injury and i dont think i will ever talk the missus into letting me buy another kite. (yes i can see the thumbprint! ) Special Thanks to Wurzel who was there at the beach that first day I got spanked by my sammi, and came chasing me down the beach to help me lol. Cheers buddy. KiteBiatch keep simon from killing himself like me lol good news is the hospital are acting pretty fast to get my knees sorted but still gonna be 2 years or so before I am match fit, so to speak. So guys its been a blast, and thanks for being a friendly lot down on the beach. I'll miss the atmosphere even though it can get rather icy at times (j/k), prolly get down there sometime with a video cam to take some vid of u guys strutting your stuff. anybody know of a low impact hobby thats just as exciting as kiting (ohh that rhymes lol) anyway ppl play safe! PCD
  3. the entrance to the beach is shore road, you will find it off the coastal road park on the beach rock solid for buggying after a good high tide watch out for the shipwreck personally never seen it BUT that dont mean its not there lol you need permits and insurance for any traction activity land or water and you may get charged to drive onto the beach. but all in all once u get past all that ur laughin mate PCD
  4. No Worries bud hope they take the edge of a few inevitable scrapes. PCD
  5. cheers damon. the lift is now for sale. got the missus puttin the thumb screws on to get shut. She is worried i will kill myself which is understandable. gimme a couple of years i WILL be planing on the water. laters! Chris
  6. lol yeah i am ok already had one snapped acl now i got two. in a wheelchair atm but will be on my feet soon enough. wasnt even kitesurfing got spanked by lil 3 meter sammi warmin up to take the maiden flight of my airush lift pro. scudding and caught my foot in a divot and it bent the wrong way. Cheers for the concern bud. PCD
  7. hang on guys, reading on bbc/bbkpasssaappskkakshhdkk (or whatever) website, isnt against their rules to have more than one policy for the same thing, ie. bbc covers all aspect of land AND kitesurfing (although not accepted at ainsdale for the water) and bksa for kitesurfing (and whatever else it covers i honestly dont know) but the point is i remember reading that you cant be covered by 2 policies fotr the same thing just like u cant insure your car twice. maybe someone who is a bit more in the know could use that to batter sefton council to some kind of sense. or am i wrong? it has been known. PCD
  8. its knee reconstruction i need and her insurance policy aint that much Nah she is worried about me and I cant blame her for that, its a dangerous sport as I found out. looking at 2 years unable to work or something stupid, GRrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrEAT! PCD
  9. These forums are driving me mad, sat here in my bloody wheelchair trying to think of ways to talk the missus into not makin me sell all my kites, any ideas folks PCD
  10. ahh now that makes sense although how well does a wet duvet fly? anyone tried it? PCD
  11. u guys are wet thru when u go out anyway so why the big deal about the rain? or am I being dumb?
  12. brassneck, if in doubt, dont. I got a freshly snapped cruciate ligament to testify to that.

  16. Cos the wife will kill me if go near another kite. maybe if and when i get my knees fixe3d properly i may go again but still gonna head for the water. but thats gonna take a lot of smooth talkin to the missus so, we'll see eh? Has anyone ever tried kite wheelchair? hmmm..... PCD
  17. was flying a foil when it happened, bloody typical.
  18. Thanks, just a lot of hard work ahead of me, cos i gotta rebuild the strength in2 knees now. but, it happens u kearn from it. no point worrying about it just gettin on with it now. just gutted cant do the kite think no more. ah well will have to turn into the david attenborough of the kite world jus to keep a hand in. laters Chris
  19. Entirely my own fault wurzel, got spanked by the kite. was out learnin how to set up my new lei, was having a lil warm up on the sammy, and bang got spanked by the kite, caught my foot ina divot in the grass and SNAP! never even got to fly my lei. what a biatch PCD
  20. Well having a final fly of my lil sammy 3m, syaing goodbye as it were b4 selling it. I managed to really feck up my knee. For those of u who know I already had a ruptured ACL u will be surprised to know that it wasnt the bad knee that got damaged. it was my good knee. I now have a matching pair of severely damaged knees. Currently sat in a bloody wheelchair (how embarrassing) http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k30/psychocabdriver/P07-27-06_19.jpg In light of this, everything is going. my kites my gear, even my new lei. GUTTED So if anyone is interested in anything I got then PM me. Cheers Chris
  21. thanks for the prompt answers ppl PCD
  22. sorry to be a bit dumb but what implications do all these changes have on water use? Who do I need to join whatever to use the water at ainsdale? New to the water soon so need a little clarification on that part. Cheers PCD
  23. To be honest mate i know u r right, been warned already, got a couple of very experienced lads holding my hand as it were. and in all honesty too scared of it to take out in anything bigger than a 10. its a big powerful kite i know but it was cheap in good condition and close by. not ideal for learning but 110 kg bodyweight needed something big. Yes i am a bat fastard. anyway cant wait to be planing along with u guys. Cheers bobby Chris PCD
  24.
