  1. hi there. the kite has been sold. sorry.
  2. still crispy! I bought it for my daughter to use, but she was not really too interested, so it has hardly been used. offers?
  3. thanks guys (Spudley, and maxgtfc).... by the way, I received a pm which reminded me of the issues I had earlier last year with my kite (honestly had forgotten, and also the kite is not affected at all). One of the seems was coming undone. I contacted Peter Lynn, and they straight away took the kite back and fixed it good as new. So there are no rips etc, the "repair" was merely re-stitching along the pre-stitched seam. Also, the aluminium spars are brand new, because I made a complaint about my ones because they had a crack along the length. Anyway, if I don't get a response here by tomorrow evening, I am putting my kite (and harness etc) onto ebay.
  4. Venom 2 16m, with Zero 4 bar, and bag is still available. for pickup in the hove/brighton area. any offer over £450...
  5. what is a fair price then for a almost new rtf 16m VII? I paid near 900 for this towards the middle of last year...
  6. rtf?
  7. about £550
  8. anyone?
  9. *sigh* a sad day...I am selling this great kite! I really don't want to, but find myself in a position where I have to. The kite is the standard yellow/purple that was on the PL site when the kite was released. It comes with bar and lines, and the bag of course. I will not be able to post this as I live in Hove/Brighton, and work in London. So will not really have the oppurtunity to post. Anyway, I prefer that whoever buys it gets to see it and can then be assured it is as described. I can meet up anywhere around the hove/brighton/lancing/shoreham area. I also have a Nobile 666 EXT XXL for sale, used twice and a Dakine Fusion harness, like the one here : http://www.session1.com/dakine-fusion-seat-harness-2006-p-3843.html?osCsid=8497cb7d4792af4ff47cc20c211f34c6 (it is XL)...this too in perfect condition. Offers?
  10. I have just sent my VII 16m back, to get repaired under waranty (the stitching was coming undone!). So, I had to pack it up. I took out the spars, and I couldn't believe it...the spars were split down the length...they aren't bent, and I have looked after them...but both spars have splits along them! The manufacturer reckons it is impossible, but proof was there in front of me. Anyone else with VII's that leave their spars in, take them out and have a look...see if you have a similar issue?
  11. I am out on a 16 venom, and believe me, I am well powered above 15mph, and I weigh 18 st! I am still trying to figure out how to handle the power properly. I sometimes have too much power, and go skimming across the water, or just enough and get up and going, then don't yet have the skill/know-how to keep going (loses all power from oversheeting or whatever!). I don't think there is any better kite to be learning with (when you go face first into the water, it is nice to have your kite waiting above you to try again...) by the way, I also come from a landboarding background, with my venom...and that was just so easy with the venom. Slight dip from zenith and off ya go...
  12. I bought my vII 16m in april 2006. and up till now have been absolutely in love with the kite, and thought the build quality was phenomenal. But in the last two weeks, one of the seems is just coming undone (only used this kite about 10-15 times max!). have a look at the picture

    4.9 injurie

I had a 3m blade II out in 30mph, and I was getting lifted and dropped alot...I couldn't keep proper control of the kite at all (unless of course I just parked it above me, which was near abouts impossible because you have to go through the power somewhat to get it there!). and I weigh over 20 stone...so, 4.9 blade in over over 40mph? No chance...
  14. they will all move over to venoms by the end of the year...
  15. in the video, it shows this to you btw.
  16. yeah, same deal....just pull on one side till the kite flips over...then it pretty much relaunches itself. (I have a V2 16m, was out in marginal winds...and no problem at all with relaunching)
  17. also, you might want to have a look at the instruction video...explains it perfectly (http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=2752930869302000363&q=peter+lynn)
  18. there really isn't much to it...AS LONG as there is sufficient wind (more than 14 knots)! The kite will normally just correct itself. But if you find it tip on tip, then pull on one back/front lineand the wind should pop the kite open again and should just be fighting to relaunch itself.

  20. hehehehe I understand where you are coming from.I have a local "weather station". (shoreham : http://www.shorehamweather.info/). I usually check this for my wind updates (to decide whether to go down or not etc.)
  21. 18 knots as the top end? you reckon? I would have thought you would only get going at about 16 knots, and fun at about 18-20
  22. thanks for the replies! I was out in about 14mph winds, and was managing to get up, then just sink down again... Anyway, I have just bought a NAISH v4 20m, so hopefully this will cover the lower end that the venom can't.
  23. What wind would I be able to ride in with this combination...oh almost forgot to mention, I weigh 120kg! Also, what should I set my internal straps to, for maximum power...so I can haul my lard ass out the water?!
  24. some really good prices on that site. has anyone bought a kite from them before?
  25. http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=1241866693596960027&q=kite check out 45 secs in
