I need anyone who's available on saturday 12 nov to come down (or up!) to roundhay park, old soldiers feild, in leeds, for hopefully, weather depending, a mass photography session for my degree course at uni. Weather looks like it could go either way, says sunny AND rainy (?!?!) on BBC weather, and XC said that wind could be anywhere around 12-20mph. But Will try to remember to keep ya updated! Basically, if you really want to know, i've been given a project where i have to document something on a specific route, which goes from leeds bus station to roundhay park! So naturally, i'm hoping to document you guys. Most of its photography, but could do with video clips of each of yer saying who you are, and what you fly etc so it makes it easier for me to remember stuff so that i can label you properly in a book i have to make. which unfortunatly has to be printed finished and bound in the next 2 weeks. So i'm going to have to pray hard and excessively to the wind and weather gods to give us a good day. (sunday looks really **** according to XC but if it starts to look better closer to the time, maybe sunday too). So i'd appreicate anyone who doesnt mind to pop down, hopefully should be there most of the day, obviously depending on when i crawl out of bed! but if you lemmie know what time you think you'll be about i can sort meself out. Sorry for the short notice! Thanks!

yeah smoked rollies for years. There not as adictive as premade cigs. They aslo give a far bigger hit of nicotene. But since you can anly absorb a small quantity anyways... Light cigs have less tar and thats why the call them light... it's not the nicotene level that makes them light. Swan filter tips are cheap. 70P for 120. Get the smaller ones tho. (extra slim) The ones that come loose in the box just mean you use more tobacco. The cig is actually no different. Rizla again dirt cheap. 23p for 50 papers. red are the thickest paper but taste the worst. then green, blue, silver. Green are the papers that most people use. There a nice comprinise of paper thickness and taste. The thinner the paper the harder it is to roll. Tobacco. I smoke golden virginia. It's quite flavored but makes a nice cig. Drum has a more smokey flavor, and a more pungent smell. Typically start with GV and test the other to see what you like best. As for rolling. Get a mate to show you how they roll. Then get somone else to show you, everone rolls differently, personally i like the filter to the right, use the tips of my fingers to roll then the sides of my fingers to rollup the cig, lick and smooth. If you can't get the hang of rolling buy a macjine and keep practising... Machines only work is you use a filter... If you have no filters they will compress the tobacco too much and it won't smoke. Rollies are also easyer to quit from as your anly adicted to nicotene.... as opposed to folmaldyhide and all sorts of cr!p in the premades.

get a copper block and grind it into fine powder with sand paper/wet and dry paper. then mix the copper with either the lighter fluid, or buy a new wick and rub it in the copper... It might work. have a word with somone in the know.... copper sulphate might also burn green and i think you can buy it for grow your own crystals kits.... pharmacists and hobby shops might sell it. http://www.newton.dep.anl.gov/askasci/gen99/gen99827.htm copper sulphate bruns blue! Cool like a say if you tell a pharmacist that you intend to grow chrystals with a younger sybling they should be able to either get some from behind the counter or order some in.... It'll be cheap as well.

don't know about fear. but doom runs at 70FPS+ appart from the most Intense parts where it drops to about 45FPS at 1600 x1200. With the settings i use. Again no AA/ anio/ dynamic lights minimum/ and reduced partical effects. but it still looks great. Friends with 9600 256MB cards that i have tweaked can also get good frame rates on doom3.. You have to volt mod the card and stick a big zalman heatsink on it. But they run all day at high frames with a much higher clock speed and slightly improved ram performance. I think he best mod i ever did was on a voodoo5. I got the beast to almost double both it's clock speeds with some serious modding. Volt mods, better hetsinks and better mosfet/ power regulator sinks. The card was real ugly... but still plays games from 3 years ago better than any modern card. And with bettewr detail settings as you can take advantage of 3dfx. If your in any doubt about modding your p.c to get the best performance have a word on this forum http://www.ausfx.com One of the moderators called perc is the greatest guy i've ever known for getting the most out of any p.c.

posted by nesbitt_bub1 Did you check to see if the demo was using the real game engine? A lot and i mean a lot of demos are relesed with rushed game engines, that have neither been optimised or tweaked. And more than often don't have the options to disable certain effects. what operating system are you running? Windows xp? then the nice 64bit architecture of the processor is waisted. Likewise are any of the games you have played optimised for 64 bit processing? No? So getting an even faster 64 bit processor is just a waste of money ATM, because the time when you actually need a 64 bit chip they will have doubled in speed.... and yours will be osbolete anyways. Even the benchmarks prove that. Your new rig will be fine. However just upgrading the graphics to that card and a little overclocking and you could score almost the same benchmark scores. Personally i have a much slower system with heavy overclocking and have no problems. here's the rig i use. 2800 athlon xp. default 2018Mhz oveclocked to 2450Mhz 1b ddr 3200 cl2 running at the same FSB as the processor. Over 2 dimms. agp at 75Mhz, 1.8volts. 9700 pro. stock 325 core 325 ram clocked to 405 core, 340 ram. Will score 19000 on 3dmark 01. and run every game in high detail with most of the effects on full. The only things i never enable are dynamic lights, and dynamic shadows. as most games don't need them to look good.

posted by nesbitt_bub1 we used to steal all the gates and knomes from the village. than tie them all up on the village green. so people would have to search for there own gate. It was a full evening job... 65 houses and more automatic lights than god! But once you have the stack of gates fully ties and all the knomes under it the sense of achivement was huge! we also used to take about rotten milk and put it in and wellies that hadn't been taken beck into the house!

posted by nesbitt_bub1 Most depower kites don't depower fully when the bar is let out. They just reduce in power. My personal preferance for the buggy would be the P/L venoms. They have a huge wind/depower range. The 13M for example is powerful enough to get me buggying happily in 10Mph wind if it's clean. I weigh only 10 1/2 stone and use a flexi bug. But the kite is good all the way into the 20's and even into the high 20's once you get the hang of it. as for killing the kite. Provided you take things easy when you get the kite you should have no problems. The safety is a total kill on the kite. You pull a pin and the kite looses all of it's tension and power. You do have to reset the bar once it's been fired but you should be safe to do so. When you have the hang of the kite, You can be overpowerd with the bar in. But have very little power with the bar out. Meaning You can get some decent speed, But upwind runs the power can be adjusted instantly to stop you sliding downwind. So you can get upwind very efficantly. I also find that with the venom it's so stable that if i'm going upwind i can completely let go of the bar.... put my arms behind my head and just head upwind without the kite doing anything other that staying in exactly the correct postition. 2 wheeling is also a lot easyer as you can adjust the power as you ride.... meaning if your wheel is going to drop you pull the bar in a little more, likewise if you become overpowerd you can let the bar out and not have to abort the 2 wheel run. The main features you have to look out for when getting a depower kite for the buggy are: speed in the turns.... if the kite doesn't turn you find yourself stopping at the end of each run, or havinf to turn massivley overpowerd.... This means flysufer pscho's are not a good choice. Lift... kites with lift are great... but if they can't be controlled. or the lift is very snachy then you'll have a lot of difificulties. Luff resistance... You'll be flying a bigger kite than normal. If it luff's then reinflates you have a huge area to drag you out sideways. a big tip is to use a climbing harness with a carabina or witchard. The harness will pull from you non kiteside leg rather than your waist. Meaning Any exess power is held lower in the bug. So you slide rather than been dragged out sideways. It also lowers the chicken loop, and thus lowers the bar and depower so you can actually reach it when sat down in the bug! From experience tha main depowers i've seen been used in a buggy are. venoms phantoms sabres frenzies riots ( at least i think there depower!) i've not seen a flysurfer speed been used as a depower... only on handles. And Psychos are a littel slow in the turn.... 10M and smaller might be o.k tho.

there used to be a program called "Bleem" that allowed you to play ps1 games on the p.c. I think there was also a "Bleem2" that did the same for PS1 Aand PS2. But i have the sneaking suspicion that because sony couldn't legaly shut the compan down they bought the company and shut it down.... There may still be copies available on ebay or On p2p... but you'll have to search I'm afaid.

yeah but i wasn't aiming at the russian side of things... what i was getting at is you can buy a fairly run of the mill GPU and actually convert it into a high end 2d design card with very little tweaking provided you know what card to buy and how to tweak it. CAD is very demanding on certain aspects of the p.c and getting a little more performance for less money is always a nice option. If you get the cheap card on the dell the 2D will be sub standard and the computer will NOT be as fast as it can be because the graphics card will bottle neck the 2d draw rate... so you'll still have to wait 5 minutes on the new p.c for the computer to be able to redraw and render the wire frames. here's the link for autocad mechanical http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/index?siteID=123112&id=5158199

if your running cad applications get as much ram as possible. 2gig of ram and a decent graphics processor will speed you up no end. You don't need directx9+ so i'd opt for a cheap Nvidia ti4600 with 128Mb of ram then use riva tuner to convert it into a Quadro card. You can do it with a bit of tweaking in the install information for the drivers. But the quardo's have a great wire frame draw rate, and will render just as fast as most cards you can buy that are new. Ebay is a great place to pick them up. Mine that was quadro modded was an MSI ti4400, and it had no issues been run as a quadro card. You won't gain anything in performance of the processor. Cad is fairly floating point intensive but it's always the ram and the graphics that are the bottleneck, so more ram and a faster GPU will make cad fly. And if your rendering objects you probably don't render them with Directx in mind... I take it you make a static object. And just skin over the wire frame to create the desired component... so effects aren't realy needed.... ie dynamic lights, and intensive bump mapping. i still think you'd be better having a word with the guys at a local p.c shop.... and if they have never maade a cad machine... then find somone in your company that has. And get a spec outline from someone that has had some expirience.

yeah as said above for 64 bit processors. if you want a p.c just for everyday stuff there no real point in buying a brand new dell. Chances are you can get a similar system without the addons that your never going to use from a local p.c shop. Likewise if you already have a monitor there's no point in buying a new one. IMHO anything faster than a P2 400 is great for internet and emails. I have my mum using a p2 400 and it's as fast as mine for the internet/word processing ect. Currently it's running windows 2000 professional tho. If you want to be running WIN XP then Get a slower processor... with more RAM. over 1GB to get XP running smooth as a nut. My current P.C is an athlon 2800XP with 1GB Ram and an nforce 2 mobo. Make sure the ram is on 2 identical dimm's and your laughing. You can also get semperon processors now that are replaceable with a 64bit processor in the future... That arn't much more expensive than the athlonXP chips. You don't need Raid SATA serial ata firewire wireless networking anything more powerful than onboard sound A spangly graphics card Pci express. (AGP is cheaper and almost as efficant, plus there are more decent cheap cards for AGP) A decent computer for you would be Athlon 2800 - 3000 £40ish 1Gb of ram over 2 dimms £55 per stick Decent motherboard.... don't get a cheap motherboard. Around the £50-80 mark for a decent one. if you get the better mobo you'll have decent on board sound... so no need for a sound card. On board wired network so no need to buy a network card. Bettter support, and waranty. For a hard drive you can pick up a 40GB for £30 now and thats plenty big enough You can get a decent case for £30-55 you can get a floppy drive for £5 and a dual layer dvd writer for £40ish making if you use your current p.c bits like keyboard/mouse and monitor. making a p.c for around the £350 mark. Plus discounts ect.... It realy is better to be able to use a small p.c shop as well as the customer suport is normally far better that a big company... Ie you can take it in and they'll fix it there and then if they can.

*Sigh* Very funny londoners, however a bloke called "Tom Lehrer" did it 50 years ago, if you think THATS funny, go look Tom lehrer up, he's a maths professor from the 1950's i'd reccomend "Poisoning pigeons in the park" and "The elements song" which is basically the drugs song, but funnier. "The irish ballad" is also comedy genious and for those intellectuals amung us, "Oedipus rex" Really... if you think Amateur Transplants are funny, you havent seen anything yet! oh yeah! also "I hold your hand in mine" for those sick romantics HAHAA

Hahahaha 80's shell suit look thats hilarious! and so true! i picked it for its stability, its my first kite, and i've only played on boyfreinds Bullets and Blades which i find too unpredictable (Managed to bruise both ribs superman diving on the 2.5 bullet! Whoops!) Also going to buy a winddragon buggy for the skytiger heehee, But i'm not sure if its a cobra or flexifoil because it looks like neither of them, the bag is black with a gold tiger on, and says something like "cobra design, made by flexifoil" but it doesnt look anything like the yummy turquoise flexifoil ones, anyone got any ideas why?

Never experienced violence in school from teachers anyway (I'm kinda young) But woodwork teacher once wrote on the chalkboard "Rearrange this sentace, "UP SHUT"." I thought that was kinda cool. rumor had it he was fired for smacking a student, when in truth he was looking after his dying wife, ******s. primary school teacher would bang his ruler on the desk to startle us all, and stare over his glasses when you'd been bad (Thinking about it, i think he was just long sighted) got all kinds of stuff thrown at me by other students, but nothing as bad as what you guys are on about!

Behave. whoops my mis-read LoL

from what i can tell that means its pretty well made, i haven't been able to break nesbitt in! Like having a wild horse around the house! not complaining though, at least things dont get boring! hahahaa he does bounce, I'd love to hear your review though, i'm looking to buy one in the next couple of weeks at the latest, because i have the money now, and i'm too good at spending it!
