  1. Hi all, Well. Just went out to blow the cobwebs off my u-turn oxi-pro and wow... got seriously spanked all over the field. Was clearly overpowered and consiquently got dragged along on my knees for 50ft before being luffed on to my face. Left the field with my tail between my legs remembering not to underestimate these kites again.... and to post a WANTED ad for a oxi-pro 2m.... Just thought id share it!
  2. Please PM Me if you still have it for sale

    Harness Strop

Thats cool. It may have been a mod, as i have and know what kite killers are and these are certainly not them..... they were strapped to the handles just below the pigs tail..... Not to worry, looks like il have to pay moe attention at scouts and get some rope!!! Thanks for the advice ppl!

    Harness Strop

I know - i am using this method right now. I completely agree however after a few missed lessons at boy scouts i am having less faith in my knots. Coupled with the fact i saw 1 dude with these velcro ones that strap onto your handles, i wanted to get some of these.......

    Harness Strop

Hi ya, I am after a harness line / strop for my flexi handles. Saw these - http://www.powerkiteshop.com/accessories/mauimagicharnesslinelock.htm But look quite small (length). Any body know of any good adjustable ones for handles? Thanks
  6. he he, im 13 stone so i guess the core 1 is out.... In answer to a previous question tho, i wanna get air and cruise.... nothing specific. I have not done it before many times so looking for a good all-rounder. Thanks
  7. Hi All, I am after some advice on a kite landboard to buy for myself. I am by no means a seasoned expert in landboarding - however used to skateboard lots and i buggy and static fly right now. I have been kiting for nearly 10 years, so the kiting side isn't an issue and have a blade 3 4.9, 8.5 and a uturn oxigen pro 3.2. I am after a landboard as i have wanted to start doing this on the days i cnt buggy. I like the look of the flexifoil flexdeck some of the scrub boards but need some advice and reviews on what to get! Any ideas much appreciated. Have already posted this in the kiteboarding section by mistake - the Ejector from scrub seems to be a firm favourite?! Thanks in advance....
  8. Hi there, I personally love the U-turn range (http://www.u-turn-kites.co.uk). I have an oxigen Pro which is super quick and a great buggy engine. The Helium for ultra stable buggy engine is also worth a look. These kites are awesome.
  9. Wow, the ejector the firm favourite..... whoops - read kiteboarding as a general board sport forum.... sorry - would be greatful if a mod would move to the correct section..... otherwise il re-post.

  11. Unless you're a freestyle buggier of course!!
  12. How about a U-turn, maybe the Butane or Oxi Pro? The Oxi Pro 7.8 is a good model, great kites too!
  13. I have a 3.2m U-turn Oxi Pro. Was flying it yesterday in 28mph winds and was far too much power, however stable. Others were flying 2m Sami's, 2m Imps and some nutcase on a 6.6 blade?! After yesterday I am considering investing in a 2m Oxigen Pro and couldnt recommend these enough.... More a buggy engine i know, but they do generate lift (not on the same scale as the blade) and are quality, stable kites.... Maybe worth a look... http://www.u-turn-kites.co.uk/oxigenpro.htm
  14. Wow, cheers for all the explainations ppl, think im geting there now. So im presuming the main selling point of a depower kite is the versatility of them? A 12m may be setup/flown to fly as a 5m would, or a 7 or indeed a 12? Is this a setting on the kite you need to set before take off - or is the angle of attack controlled with the bar? Thanks again!
  15. Hi there, I have been brought up in the fixed bridle era, when depower never existed. I then stopped kiting for a while and have recently got back into buggying from a 4-5 year break..... I have gone headfirst into Fixed Bridle kites again (as thats what i know) and have not looked back.... I have not yet found a decent article explaining how depower works. How is it that yesterdays session, i and other fixed bridlers were struggling with anything above a 3m, and up goes a 12m Phantom???? I questioned myself and its either he has a screw loose, or i am seriously nieve to the understanding of "depower". I understand this kite is "so depowerable", but at the end of the day you have a 12m sheet in the air, as opposed to 3m??? I mean, 12m of bin bag i reckon id be in trouble in that wind! Could somebody explain how depower really works?
  16. Hi there, Following a crazy session yesterday at Gallons, with gusts of 25-28mph, i was flying my U-turn Oxi Pro and Whaaam! My Harness line snapped and off flew my kite!! After much running and finally catching the kite, with no damage to it or any people (thank heavens) i thought i would review my harness lines tying techniques. Although it was a weakness in the rope that snapped (unforseen) i thought i would gather some thoughts on the way people tie a harness line to their handles...... Also how often to you change your harness rope?? Any pics, articles or explanations on how ppl recommend tying their harness lines would be interesting.... Cheers
  17. I have a XL and im only a 34" waist. Its not just waist size you have to take into consideration, your thighs, back and clothing will have a large input also. Mine is grey and the large (red) adn medium (blue) i tried on was too small around the groin/thigh area..... Id try before you buy to find out exactly what your after, sizes can be misleading....
  18. I also got the exact same seat harness (Libre Deluxe XL) from Bill @ Sports Corner in Essex. Sure he would post at the cheapest rate possible.... Nice guy, top product.....
  19. Hi there, I have had the same issues with my 4.9 b3 and lifting me out the buggy regularly. After a few big airs (leaving the buggy behind) you certainly have more respect for teh blades whilst in a buggy! Ideal for freestyling tho! After a few low/mid range wind sessions you get used to the blade in a buggy and begin to master it not ripping you and then you can move up to the maximum wind speeds more confidently. Good luck, and happy blade buggying - a wicked experience......
  20. Hi there, As i seem to find myself buggying, and wanting to buggy, a whole lot more i thought it neccessary to join a club and meet a few more peeps..... Also from the insurance aspect its a good idea too.... as i am buggying in some more public areas... Can anyone recommend any land based powerkiting clubs in and around essex? Ta!
  21. Dazza, im coming down to devon over new year..... not sure if your up for a session on Westward Ho! or the like?
  22. Does it include lines handles etc? i am v interested in 3.2s, 4.0 and 5.0's. I have pm'd you!
  23. Wow, big up the oxigens...... thanks guys! Why aren't thwey more common if they are this good? :-) So really, my second question should be - "where do i get one"?! I would ideally like a test fly but there are no resellers of u-turn produce around here. Thanks again ppl! Sounds like another one of those "must buys"..... best buy the missus something special for xmas so she lets me have one ;-)
  24. Hi there, I am toying with the idea of investing in a U-turn Oxygen Pro 5m for my main buggy engine. I have read good reviews on this kite and would like to here your experiences/opinions on this kite, especially alongside the more common Samis and Bullets that are used for all round buggying...? Thanks in advance

    GPS Speedo

Hello all, Thatnks for the replies - most helpful. Just having a look at the Garmin 101 + 201 Foretrex and cant see that much difference? It also does not mention speedometer functions - or does that functionality go without saying?
