Goin' on hols to Devon Friday so can't make this one ;( Shame as we have bought a campervan now to cope with the SI Summer Storms We'll keep a look out for the next one!

http://i15.ebayimg.com/05/i/07/a6/9f/f6_12.JPG Yep, though we've no idea what it's like as we don't collect it until tonight when I get back from Leeds Would like to .... but have to go to Hertfordshire for a 10:30-12:30, so doubt I'd be back and able to fly until 3:30-4:00? Is that any use to you?

I want to get out but I can probably only make Sunday this weekend (wife is working Saturday), though Cleave might be a little crowded for the VMax Just to complete this current kite spending session we have today added a VW T25 Camper to my VMax and pair of Vortexes, so we are now fully beach prepared

you better not have won that 17m the other day for the ridiculas price of £343! I was planning a last minute bid but my PC froze and I missed out! Anyway, yes it was from ab-shop, it took 3 days to arrive after payment ... but I have no idea who the courier was as my wife recieved it and I ripped the box open in excitement without look at the labels
-
...and as if by magic (not planned at all when I last posted!), I'm now the proud owner of a red Libre VMax So come on wind, I wwant to play with toys! Bah, doesn't seem to be in double figures for the next week

A Great weekend (though I was ready to leave the tent and go home at 2am in the morning - the wife forced me to stay!) - my 5 yr old woke up at 07:30 on Sunday asking for breakfast, completely unware of the storm that had gone on around her! Oh the sleep on the innocent! Nice to meet some people; I have already (since the weekend) upgraded to a VMax as I had buggy envy from all the nice kit people had! The wife is also watching a few T25's on EBay so we won't have to rely on my re-pegging the tent ever hour in driving rain if we get weather like that again! Hope to meet you all again soon (in better weather!) when we'll be a little more preparred (i.e. camper van and lots of beer!) P.S. I think you should have warned me about the nudist camp - I nearly crashed the flexi wiht the distraction. Very unearving to see a buggy parked there - is there an infamous Shell Island naked buggier???

I would marry it if I could have two spouses . The beach runs on Saturday were fantastic (not for the nudist reasons mind you, very offputting at speed!), I was power-up at 25mph with the 14m but I was still ground-bound! There was some lift but it was smooth to appear and esy to manage. I swapped to the 10m to christen it and that was great fun. It was so quick in the high winds it moves more like foil. Still very controllable power and again lots of stability (no luffing, folding tips etc) - I only wish I had GPS with me to clock my speed as it felt very fast! Only downside is landing Arcs in 25mph ... lucky there was so many people around willing to help grab a tip Given more spare cash, I would definately invest in the 17m for low-wind (and a bit of kite-surfing which I'm desparate to try now!) and possibly the 8m for MAtthew to learn on and for me in silly winds . Still, I think I need my wide-axel VMax first!
-
If we are playing my site was gustier than you then I win - measured at 50mph on the beach at Shell Needless to say that I considered the 10m Vortex to be overpowered and so declined to fly . Still Saturday was good - 20-25mph constant onshore; got to play with both Vortex's and had some good 2-3mile speed runs right through the nudist camp
-
Never been to Shell Isaland before and I don't think I know anybody posting here, but would you mind if wife, kids, dogs and myself tagged on to your encampment? I've got new ARCs I'm desparate to fly and this is the first double-figure wind I've seen forcast for weeks! My wife was wondering if there were any other kite-widows there so she can compare "when will my husband grow up?" stories with somebody else?
-
Double figure wind in Metcheck, now thats more like it! Has anybody else got kiting plans this weekend? There seems to be a gathering at Shell Island so I might have to pop over there
-
Wind?! Where? I need wind - my crispy/shiny vortexs' need some real wind to play in (i.e. more thatn the 6mph we have seen for what seems forever!) Still doesn't look good for the weekend though, where do I need to go to get some wind!
-
Vortex is a German kite shop selling on EBay (£385 + £10P&P; I'm pleased anyway!) Anybody know what shane's ID is on here or better still his phone number? I know he had an 8m Vortex he wanted shut of
-
Sorry to hear about your kites m8, I trawl EBay a lot so I'll keep my eyes open for your kit. Can we all pray for wind this weekend please(especially you Paul as you're connected!) as I have a 14m Vortex on its way that needs playing with
-
You are either very brave or have an understanding family - I wouldn't even dare to mention a kiting trip on Mothering Sunday for fear of reprisal
-
Just too many fair-weather kiters in worcester (Myself inlcuded!) We have a thread in the Kite section (Worcester Kite club) - keep an eye out there as people usually post when they are off to Perdi. Hope to see you down there some time!
