I am ok with 2-liner deltas and para kites, and getting them in the air. But I have bought a Revolution knock-off and I am having some trouble setting up and launching. Having got all the lines sorted (I assumed that each spool was for each side, whereas they had done the other thing ) I then tried to launch in various ways. This was in light winds (<5Kt) (1) As for a delta, have the kite sit on its spars, leaning back to hold it down. Problem. trying to move back down the lines toward the handle ends, the kite kept "walking" at me as even a sliught change of angle produced lift on one side or the otrher and as quick as I could be, that side would just inch…

Has anyone worked out how to fly with one hand? Mainly talking about revs. I have had a bit of a play with flying with one hand but have always struggled in keeping control when doing more than just straight up and down movements. One I start to try and do any turns I have had all sorts of troubles. Any idea's on how to hold the handles to achive this?

Well I am after my first stunt kite, and I'm after a little advise. I'm after something that I can fly, when there isn't enough wind to be out flying my larger foils, so basicly from 1 - 8 knots. So, 2 or 4 line? And is it better to get a light wind kite and fly it up to it's max or get a free style kite with a bottom wind range of 3mph? Also, whats the HQ tango like? It seams to cover the wind range, but is it a capable kite or one that is quickly outgrown? Any other suggestions? The budget is up to $200 cheers

Took my new Rev out for the first time today and I was rubbish. Or maybe I could blame the wind:D It was quite hard to get out of power kite flying mode and keep my arms together especially when I started to loose it and panic. D'oh. One thing it kept doing though - I'd launch it and then all the lines would go extremely slack, it would flip over towards me and float back down to ground. Am I launching it too hard or is it a sign that there just wasn't enough wind to support it once it was up. Mind you I got lots of practice at reverse launching and flipping it back the right way up

Well they tried a 20 kite team fly at Coolum this year. Lets just say that with a few inexperienced flyers (I wont say who) it was very interesting. 40 lines twisted at once is fun. Heres a pic but I'm not to sure what young Luke was doing at the time. Maybe thinking of something other than kites???

Just got myself a 1.5SLE However, it was "preowned" and I didn't get the Video/CD/DVD. Picking up the basics by trial and error (ok more error than trial ;-) ). Itching to sit in front of the telly with my handles following the moves! Has anyone got a 2nd hand copy they want to part with? Cheers, Simon

Thinking about getting another stunt/sport kite that can do more than the Beetle in regards to tricks. Looking at spending around £70 and would like quite a wide wind range from one kite. Looking at the Flying Wings Alpha+, Flexifoil Pulsar, or maybe HQ Obsession or Session. Any thoughts on which would be the best of the bunch? how they compare? or is there anything better on the market for this price range?

Time flies like my youth, and with it time to trawl to my local beach to go buggying. Never overly enamoured with flying big traction kites inland, and my Super 10 is difficult to solo launch from a rough field. So I'm looking for a good delta or other sport kite to while away the hours, improve my flying skills and reactions and return to the purity of simple kite flying without the worry of kiting bans and access. I'm an experienced kite flyer so any suggestions, I am considering a big delta 2m+. Any suggestions in which company makes the best?

Over Easter, myself a couple of mates went about 1hr south of Hobart for a weekend away and some bugging. However on the first day (Sunday) the wind was gusty and light. Made the bugging hard and slow. What a good time to get the Revs out. I will warn you now, it has been a few weeks since I have had the Rev out so I was a little scratchy with the flying. Also there was a sand dunes behind me so the wind was not the best. Easter Rev Session on Vimeo Will get a bit of practice up and get some more rev action soon. BTW, we did get a really nice buggy on Monday but we were to excited to be flying up and down the beach, we forgot to take any footage.

Revolution has anounced a new Revolution. It is called the Zen. They should be released in the US at the end of the month. I have taken a copy of someones write up on other forums so I cant claim it my own. I have read a little about it and looks like it will be a nice low wind kite.

I took a punt on a bag of kites out of Sydney sight unseen from a lady I had purchased some "Blade" power kites from from many years ago. She rang me out of the blue when she found this bag when shifting house. (See it always pays to send a postcard of Esperance and a few $5.00 "Scratchies", thanking the seller for her help, when buying from her. She had done the extra yards by getting the blades into a box/packaged and into the post for me. She still had this post card on her fridge with my mobile number on it). This new parcel arrived a few weeks back and the postage and bubble wrap ended up being half the purchase cost. I finally got round to undoing it and…

As some of you may have noticed .... A vibrant debate seems to have burst forth on the Widow thread... The crux of it being about what sport kiteing is today. Feel free to have a read, there are some classic quotes for sure:whistle: On the 'I stopped developing in the 90's' side we have Promethius (sic) and on the 'I didn't start till 2007' side we have 'Two Hands' (yours truly) Some of the quotes worth noting... Promethius (sic): "I'm surprised that a festival would want "freestyle" at all, as most of the time it is loathed... " "The only difference is freestyle is seen as boring, individualist, and as mentione…
