bartiebat1599968741 Posted April 8, 2008 Report Posted April 8, 2008 I've learnt this the hard way with snowboarding & don't want to invest in a kiteboard only to get whipped & have to buy a different one soon after. Going on the Nobile board selector site (the 555's preeeettty ) it picks a 134 or a 137 for me - I didn't really want a choice so wondering if sex (stop it now!) is an issue? Thanks peeps Quote
ouchmyankle Posted April 8, 2008 Report Posted April 8, 2008 Yea sex does come in to it with girls being top heavy in the chest department they need a wider board Quote
Johno2090 Posted April 8, 2008 Report Posted April 8, 2008 Giggidy, giggidy, gig-gi-dy! (added for Ouch, i felt he needed it) Quote
Kite Kid Posted April 8, 2008 Report Posted April 8, 2008 as woman are usually a bit smaller then men u may find it easir to ride with a smaller stance so check the board has a couple of pad placemnt holes Quote
pyrotim Posted April 8, 2008 Report Posted April 8, 2008 Females generally like pink boards, and ones with pretty graphics. Only things that really affect board choice is height, experience and riding style. Other than that it's what is pretty. I'm 83 kg, 6'3 and my personal choice would to not go larger than 130 x 40 cm. However, that's due to my style of riding. I'm guessing from your question, you are a newbie. I wouldn't neccessarily go for such an expensive board as a 1st board. Depending on your weight, if you are a lightweight, then the 134 / 137 would be good, but if a bit heavier, you may look at something a tad bigger to start with, then trade down to the 134 when you are ready. It all depends on feel really so my advice would be to get a test ride and if you like it, go for it, but make sure you test more than one board. Quote
KiteItRight Posted April 8, 2008 Report Posted April 8, 2008 they also prfer more flexible deck Quote

destroyer Posted April 8, 2008 Report Posted April 8, 2008 check out the bottom of the page on the link, it may be a tad small tho, pending on your weight http://www.powerkiteshop.com/surf/nobile55507.htm Quote
sukie Posted April 8, 2008 Report Posted April 8, 2008 you will want to go smaller. i ride a 125, and get on reall really well with it, and am looking for something a tad bigger. defo the smaller one, bigger boards are just annoying and the foot straps are way too big Quote
Jono Posted April 8, 2008 Report Posted April 8, 2008 if your looking for something a tad bigger but still on the small side..... POOLY's YOUR MAN or you could try and get a cutom board from colin of LOst cause boards. wont regret it Quote
TomW Posted April 9, 2008 Report Posted April 9, 2008 did you know dogs are the only things that have a bone in their penis! so poolys pic cant be human (i dont think) Quote
nemo_sushi Posted April 9, 2008 Report Posted April 9, 2008 My gf had a 128FLX.. lost that and got an ´06 666 123 which she thinks suites her a lot better.... Quote
sprogg Posted April 9, 2008 Report Posted April 9, 2008 Crazy Fly do a nice board for females, so do TB boards. Narrower stance is good, softer flex and you can get female/child pads/straps to suit smaller feet. Quote
lucie8uk Posted April 10, 2008 Report Posted April 10, 2008 I am really hacked off by the majority of responses to this question. Guys, do you want more girls kiting at your beach or not? Because the **** that a lot of you are coming out with will put the majority of them off. In response to the original question, I am 5'4" and weight 55kgs, and I learnt on something like a 134, but my board now is a 127 x 38.5 Naish Sol - the 2006 version. It can be tricky getting straps to fit smaller feet but Underground do them in S, M and L. I notice Liquid Force are doing ladies-fit straps now too. Good luck. Quote
sprogg Posted April 10, 2008 Report Posted April 10, 2008 Lady fir dstraps are now widely available. TB do the Mana 37 (130 x 37)for lighter riders. Crazy Fly do the girls boards 3 diff sizes. Quote
bartiebat1599968741 Posted April 10, 2008 Author Report Posted April 10, 2008 Thanks everyone! Lost cause never responded to my email so I've gone with an 08 crazy fly girl 132 x 39 as that kept reappearing in suggestions here & at home (& yes it's very pretty!). Can't wait - might even have warmed up a bit by the time it arrives! Quote
