Badger Posted March 27, 2008 Report Posted March 27, 2008 So I need a 3/2 wet suit. Can get a Psycho 1 much cheaper than a 2. So what's the difference. Is it worth paying more, or is the difference fairly minor? Cheers, Steve. Quote
SonnyRider Posted March 28, 2008 Report Posted March 28, 2008 I bought a 4/3 psycho 1 a month back. The bloke said the difference between a 1 & 2 were the seems are welded on the inside of the 2, not just the outside. He also said if the seams were welded on both sides, then you lost some of the flexibility of the suit. (where the seams are) I can't remember everything he said, but I wasn't tempted to go to a 2 for minimal difference Quote
Kite Kid Posted March 28, 2008 Report Posted March 28, 2008 seems are welded both sides back goes higher cost more i don't really know but its a hell of a suit and looks better than the 1 Quote
Q-bert Posted March 28, 2008 Report Posted March 28, 2008 Interestingly I was speaking to the custom wetty blokes at Snugg about welded seams only the other day and they suggested it was just a gimmick and a well built suit would not need welded seams as the seams are all glued and stitched to stop water ingress and to prevent seam splitting. Kite Kid Posted March 28, 2008 Report Posted March 28, 2008 it does work water only slowly enters the suit to the point you can't notce it and any freshwater that comes in to your zip gets flushed right on the back instantly Quote
yorkshireone Posted March 28, 2008 Report Posted March 28, 2008 handy thread this, I'm just getting a Psycho 1 Quote
garyc Posted March 28, 2008 Report Posted March 28, 2008 I got a psycho 2, the dogs dodars!!!! the 2 hes welded seams in and out, the flush gard in the back comes over your kneck insted of ending at the top of your back. And if i remember rightly, the 2 has more neoprene sections to make it stretch better Quote
GSter Posted March 28, 2008 Report Posted March 28, 2008 I have a P2, but will be trying a Maui Mystic kite specific suit this summer and if I get on with it, trying a steamer for next autumn/winter. Have a look at the 'kite' specific features these suits have! Maybe a bit of a gimmick....but I'm worth every penny! Quote
