rosco585 Posted February 12, 2008 Report Posted February 12, 2008 Right as the title says I need some advise.... I'm in a position to buy a new kite:D I have been flying Peter Lynn Venom1's for a yearish and have got quite taste for them. My question is: As an upgrade should I get a V2? Or should I get myself a Synergy? I know to try before I buy just wanted to know what you lot would do... I fly inland. I weigh 11.5 stone. I have a fair amount of flying experience.(but it never seems to be enough) Quote
guerilla Posted February 12, 2008 Report Posted February 12, 2008 the diffrence between the v1 and 2's is not that noticable and they have lost just a touch of the gust munching ability's id say go for the synergy Quote
rosco585 Posted February 12, 2008 Author Report Posted February 12, 2008 nice one guerilla. keep em coming... Quote
guerilla Posted February 12, 2008 Report Posted February 12, 2008 im waiting for a bit so to see what the wider response is with the synergy at the moment its good but like the scorpion it might disappear quickly (not saying the scorp is no good just the response in forums died quickly) so either get a go (of a synergy) and see what you think or wait a bit to see if its going to be worth the extra money Quote
rosco585 Posted February 12, 2008 Author Report Posted February 12, 2008 Yeah, I know what you mean about the Scorps and its because of that Im hesitating. Just gonna wait and see what happens. So anyone who knows what these Synergys are like let me know.. Or better still, anyone who lives near London that wants to let a complete stranger have a go on one?.......lol! Quote
crut Posted February 12, 2008 Report Posted February 12, 2008 Id go Venom2 over synergy! That is because you are a fool. Having flown all three. I'd go for a synergy. It is rapid, grunty and floaty. Lovely kit. Quote
Angoose Posted February 12, 2008 Report Posted February 12, 2008 would have tried the 15m synergy on sunday but guess what, f*ck all wind lol i was very impressed with the V2's especially the 13m but then again i loved the 13m V1, saw the 9m synergy in action and looked very good. but from experience between the V1 and V2 go for the latter option Quote
marman Posted February 13, 2008 Report Posted February 13, 2008 Id go Venom2 over synergy! That is because you are a fool. Having flown all three. I'd go for a synergy. It is rapid, grunty and floaty. Lovely kit. I felt unsafe! its too "jelly like" Quote
guerilla Posted February 13, 2008 Report Posted February 13, 2008 I felt unsafe! its too "jelly like" flying the synergy ? tell me more Quote
Badger Posted February 13, 2008 Report Posted February 13, 2008 Yeah, I know what you mean about the Scorps and its because of that Im hesitating. Just gonna wait and see what happens. I don't know anyone with a Synergy but there are a few Scorpions and V2s about. Steve. Quote
XRoad RunnerX Posted February 13, 2008 Report Posted February 13, 2008 i had a demo one few weeks ago and it a beast best peterlyn kite out! i love it lol 8) Quote
martiin Posted February 14, 2008 Report Posted February 14, 2008 Arc's are amazing. I love them. The only thing thats made me begin to consider other kites is, hybrids and bows. They can do anything you want and are just as stable as arcs now imo. I haven't flown a synergy though and still do fly my arcs i've just got an 9 meter hybrid for nuking days and my brothers got an 11 bow he loves just as much as his venom. Quote
nobby Posted February 14, 2008 Report Posted February 14, 2008 vpc on the synergy will make for much better steering as you depower it if the scorps are anything to go by... Quote
denziltrevaskis Posted February 16, 2008 Report Posted February 16, 2008 synergy pisses all over the v2 in terms of canopy stiffness; at all areas of the wind window it is a much more rigid kite in the sky. you can feel it at the bar. turns quicker, more responsive, much better unhooked, better feedback no contest. it/s a totally new kite from a new designer try one and see for yourself best of luck! Angoose Posted February 16, 2008 Report Posted February 16, 2008 had the 15m synergy up in around 15mph yesterday and was hugely disapointed by it, jelly fished like nothing else, not great at height, more of a float machine. the look nice and look like they should perform but they just aren't up there with other modern day kites imo. ps i spent the whole day trying the thing and playing with the settings so its not through my lack of trying to make it fly better.
