RossRobObey Posted February 1, 2008 Report Posted February 1, 2008 Well I need a new bar. The Zero 7 is only £4 more than the Zero 4 so figured it would be worth getting it. Have heard about the really 'loose' safety, but has this been resolved by PL yet? If not, does flipping the safety 'head'/red bit around acutally work? Quote
guerilla Posted February 1, 2008 Report Posted February 1, 2008 no pl did nothing about it, some people do turn the hat upside down but some one on here told me that its down to how you position the pins i tried it and have not had the saftey go on me since Quote
RossRobObey Posted February 1, 2008 Author Report Posted February 1, 2008 Oh right. Might aswell go for it then. I'm assuming PKS is the cheapest with £104.95? Quote
guerilla Posted February 1, 2008 Report Posted February 1, 2008 not sure on that one some one on here might no cheaper Quote
PB Posted February 1, 2008 Report Posted February 1, 2008 Yeah go for the 07 bar, iv had know problems and i havent turned it upside down or modded it. Try EKS not sure how much you could get it for there, worth a shout. Quote
gu5t Posted February 1, 2008 Report Posted February 1, 2008 im sorry but wouldn't it be a lot cheaper and more fun to make one, ive made a crossover bar and its great, but i know its not the same as a depower bar but its worth a try. Quote
RossRobObey Posted February 1, 2008 Author Report Posted February 1, 2008 Not an option I'm afraid. Thanks for the input though. Quote
Druncan Posted February 1, 2008 Report Posted February 1, 2008 We turned the top hat. Worked fine. Best thing is that you can reload it with cold hands. The 04 was a fek'n nightmare to thread the fiddly loop through even with the tab. 07 all the way. The landing rings work well in light winds. Might find out what the 07 is like to reload in snow tomorrow:D Quote
domdino Posted February 1, 2008 Report Posted February 1, 2008 The hat is better now if you turn it upside down, but the leash / rear line release is still the biggest pile of **** in the world... I dunno what they made that plastic leash connector thing out of but mine snapped the first time i released it on my old V2... and instead of nicely floating down like they used to on the front lines, the rear line made the kite tumble down very violently and not stay there very happily either... Needless to say, i'm not impressed with the zero7 bar, although it did have good intentions, a redesign is in order, i think. Quote
samski Posted February 2, 2008 Report Posted February 2, 2008 im happy with the 07 bar, maybe the safety could be switchable to the top lines, but i find it comes down nicer on the back line. Eventually the safeties stiffen up a bit, and the only problem really is if you have your thumb on it as you hook back in. but if your really concerned about it, turn the top hat round. the only change i would make to this bar is to have top lines swivleable. that pks price isnt with lines. airboss sell with lines for £166 and theyll deliver for free as its over £100 give them a ring if you want it without lines and they'll at least match the price... Gregga Posted February 11, 2008 Report Posted February 11, 2008 i had the same problem on my venom. what i have done is put some card in the top hat. now its very stiff. but i suppose when ur scard ur gonna push that tophat very very hard, so it will still come off Quote
Dan Masochist Posted February 11, 2008 Report Posted February 11, 2008 @ Greg- your signature is huge Quote
RossRobObey Posted February 11, 2008 Author Report Posted February 11, 2008 Yeah, how d'you get away with that? Quote
crut Posted February 11, 2008 Report Posted February 11, 2008 ****ing Hell Greg. Could you possibly make your sig _any_ bigger? Quote
kiter_ryan Posted February 11, 2008 Report Posted February 11, 2008 lol.... @Greg - You should probably change that before the moderators change it for you - there's a size restriction on it i think? Ryan Quote
Siimon Posted February 11, 2008 Report Posted February 11, 2008 i thought it was 100 x 500. give him some credit though, he took the 'Idol: Lewis Wilby' bit off it, which made it a bit smaller Quote
