jdhot Posted May 19, 2009 Report Posted May 19, 2009 Hi all, Just thought I would post a few pics of the Kenda Beach Racers that I fitted to Steve's (Kitepower) Libre Dragster, ready for Mayday. There impressive Steve and look GREAT. There a very nice tyre with grooves moulded at time of manufacturer not grooved later, and without close inspection they seem more concentric too. jdhot Posted May 19, 2009 Author Report Posted May 19, 2009 Marty, They are nice and what seem to be a much better quality tyre round wise. Have two fitted to my rims for the Monster Bug, but was mucking around today making a front mudguard. It was a quick through together of a $6 auto floor mat ready for the dunes now bring on Mayday MMM Quote
jdhot Posted May 19, 2009 Author Report Posted May 19, 2009 MAYDAY, MAYDAY, MAYDAY Can hardly wait Quote
Peter Posted May 19, 2009 Report Posted May 19, 2009 wow thats a face only a mum could love..... the front wheel/tyre on that dragster looks very narrow, there is going to be a huge miss match of grip against sideways pull. i do like the profile on those rear tyres, they just look grippy. JD will your new buggy take a big fat front wheel and tyre, wider than steve's? Quote
jdhot Posted May 19, 2009 Author Report Posted May 19, 2009 JD will your new buggy take a big fat front wheel and tyre, wider than steve's? Is nice and wide up front, 7" Cadkat's all round. Quote
Dave Shepp Posted May 19, 2009 Report Posted May 19, 2009 I wanna know how fast it'll go? Please JD I'll con HP into anything you want just dont give him the heads up Quote
Daze Posted May 19, 2009 Report Posted May 19, 2009 I wanna know how fast it'll go? Please JD I'll con HP into anything you want just dont give him the heads up I don't know if you ment the KBR tyres... For Beach they've got to much contact area... That makes you a little bit slower than with CadKads... But for "cruising" they are still okay, no problems with any ground, except for aquaplaning... Quote

But for "cruising" they are still okay, no problems with any ground, except for aquaplaning... Indeed .... wide tires give you more speed, but they won't give you top speeds Quote
Dave Shepp Posted May 20, 2009 Report Posted May 20, 2009 Tell em the price son Guy's it's sme, i just wanna go kiting All day Every day Hyundai 2 more days 2 MayDay Quote
Jimmy22 Posted May 24, 2009 Report Posted May 24, 2009 so far 74.1 kmph for me on kenda beach racers, lighter than duros less out of balance by 40 grams than duros. at 74.1 kmph they were smooth and just wanted more , i believe they were at the NABX 2009 doining 110 kmph + they also lasted the whole meeting , barrows popped after 30 mins to 1 hour. Jimmy22 Posted May 24, 2009 Report Posted May 24, 2009 next time you are on a salt lake i guess you run barrows then , hehe Quote
gannet Posted June 12, 2009 Report Posted June 12, 2009 Hey , jimmy went do we tell our OZ brothers about project carbon? anyway, here is what the kenda BR looks like up front..... Quote
Peter Posted June 12, 2009 Report Posted June 12, 2009 ah you think you are spilling the beans on a carbon buggy do you .... Quote
JKS Posted June 12, 2009 Report Posted June 12, 2009 Bugger the carbon .... show us the seat Nice !!! Quote
Peter Posted June 12, 2009 Report Posted June 12, 2009 thats just an old race seat outta a car, nutin new there either, and way too restrictive, imo, cant do 360's with that seat, but good protection against flipping the bug. Quote
gannet Posted June 13, 2009 Report Posted June 13, 2009 carbon buggy no. that's nothing new , I've been running this buggy for about 2.5 year that's the longest any buggy has lasted me. going down to the beach tomorrow, will try in get some action photos of the kendas Quote
gannet Posted June 13, 2009 Report Posted June 13, 2009 Only kick out a 77.3kms/hr with the kenda beach racers and a 2.5 blur needed more wind it was only about 23 knots, the blur likes it 28-30 the kenda works well up front, can't want to try them in the dunes Quote
