dazza101 Posted September 26, 2007 Report Posted September 26, 2007 had a chance to try out my new deck brought direct from trampa a shortened 12 ply 15 degree deck with hollow s8 trucks and blue primo alphas. thanks to ted and the trampa lads the deck is sweeeeet:D nice and light with lots of pop im already spining faster and carving tighter. cant wait to have a good session on the beach with it thanks again daz Quote
wenglish Posted September 26, 2007 Report Posted September 26, 2007 how much shorter is it? do you have any pics? ive been tempted to put my trampa on a diet and reshape it. if shortening it will make it stiffer then i can remove some from the middle to increase flex. Quote
dazza101 Posted September 26, 2007 Author Report Posted September 26, 2007 its had the ends trimed and the trucks moved closer to the crease. Quote
minidrummer Posted September 26, 2007 Report Posted September 26, 2007 ye i know a few peeps that have doen than its good if you a bit too heavy for that ply but what a smaller ply to make it lighter, nice deck clssic trampa happy bording Ash xx Quote
Angoose Posted September 26, 2007 Report Posted September 26, 2007 good to see you like that board mate......... we did 4 of the same sort of shape and i got to play around with one try some funky stuff with it.... this deck is the flexist out of the 4 as its been given some shape in the middle http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l42/Ginger_boarber/boards/PHTO0181-1.jpg this one is my holey board and rides nicely http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l42/Ginger_boarber/boards/PHTO0181.jpg http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l42/Ginger_boarber/boards/PHTO0189.jpg http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l42/Ginger_boarber/boards/PHTO0187.jpg http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l42/Ginger_boarber/boards/PHTO0182.jpg there is still one deck going which is pretty much the same spec as Dazza101's Quote
KiteDeck Dan Posted September 26, 2007 Report Posted September 26, 2007 yer looks nice think needs a bit taken out the middle tho instead of straight edges, nice tho Quote
Angoose Posted September 26, 2007 Report Posted September 26, 2007 yeah thats my thinking i hate the long straight edge on the toeside just looks soo bland......... glad to see someone agrees and it will be changed promptly lol Quote
RossRobObey Posted September 26, 2007 Report Posted September 26, 2007 Yeah, I wondered why it looked 'not as good' and read Dan's post. Deffo needs slimming in the middle. Quote
snab Posted September 27, 2007 Report Posted September 27, 2007 Nice decks!! I'v been looking to get a trampa to, only don't know what ply to choose. I'm quite lite (10 stone) gonna use it with skates, I thought to get a 12ply but I always read that they are way to flexi!!, so I thought I get a 13ply or is this to stiff for my weight? sorry for going off-topic but don't wanted to make a whole new tread for this simple question. Quote
Big Dog Posted September 27, 2007 Report Posted September 27, 2007 I have a friend on a 13ply short, and he has no issues. Nice flex, very smooth. Weighs in about 6kg, certainly no heavier! But more than my 5.5kg ckb Quote

dazza101 Posted September 27, 2007 Author Report Posted September 27, 2007 i like the look of the holey board that looks sweet Quote
Angoose Posted September 27, 2007 Report Posted September 27, 2007 @dazza101: cheers mate........ and you can have yours like that for £40 quid lol @snab: as i've said there is still one board exactly like dazza101's for sale at trampa, this will easily be fine for a 10stoner because the trucks have been brought closer to the crease as already said. hmmm it is a tricky one though if you were going brandnew........the best thing that could be done is to shave some material from a 13ply deck or bring the trucks in on a 12ply deck but i'm sure you don't realy want the hassle...... another thing is if you prefer a slightly springyer deck go for the 12ply short and if you prefer the stiffer deck go for the 13ply short. minidrummer Posted September 27, 2007 Report Posted September 27, 2007 id say twelve ply myself they are much nicer proboly will benifit you in the long run any hoo nice decks man sweet stuff any hoo Ash xx Quote
Angoose Posted September 27, 2007 Report Posted September 27, 2007 i just thought i'd post this any hoo:D Quote

harry_a Posted September 29, 2007 Report Posted September 29, 2007 a pair of scrub velcros is like 20 quid Quote
kitefloater Posted September 29, 2007 Report Posted September 29, 2007 tis all about the talons.... Quote
kite geek Posted September 29, 2007 Report Posted September 29, 2007 why do half the people with trampas have post bindings?! surely they completely suck... Its because they come stock with them. Quote
Angoose Posted September 29, 2007 Report Posted September 29, 2007 you pay for what you get.......if you spend more you gettin better components tis quite a simple way of doing things and also it the same with almost any product in the world...... so if you want scrub velcros as stock then the price for a stock board would increase by an amount Quote
