tszy Posted July 12, 2007 Report Posted July 12, 2007 Don't understand that as I got it from new and as you will have seen it's not been abused. I was only flying static when I got it and it flew ok for that but it was never quite right in the buggy. I have 2.5 and a 4.5 Centurys which are fine for buggying and my 3.5 Combat is the business. Do you think there is a manufacturing fault on that particular kite? Quote

Do you think there is a manufacturing fault on that particular kite? Thats my only guess, because line lengths/bridles etc. all seem fine, I can only suspect that its been a complete one off problem with the sewing/sizing of the canopy itself. As you say, its only really noticable when on the move, static its not quite as nice, but you wouldn't notice unless you had 2 kites side by side. Quote
Adam F Posted July 12, 2007 Report Posted July 12, 2007 Kev (since i cant be bothered talking to you on MSN - sorry!) Does it cost anything for Roger to have a look at the kite? I think there's something strangely wrong with my 6.5m - still NEVER got the takeoff problem fixed! Quote
Offshore Posted July 13, 2007 Report Posted July 13, 2007 "Reliable" read the threads at the beginning of the year! What happened at the beginning of the year?? I can remember a few free deliveries of bigfoots and a quiet period when they were at a big Kite show but what else happened? Personally I have used them 3 times in the past and always had great service and saved loads of money vs current UK prices at THAT time. In my opinion if it wasn't for the likes of Buggywielen selling wheels miles cheaper than we were able to buy in this country, then the likes of Prokites etc would still be selling them for far more money as they all did in the past. I have nothing against supporting local shops etc, but it alway's gripes me that when the UK finally sell at a fair price people start jumping on the companies that got us THOSE reduced prices in the beginning. lol rant over Taff, I helped Andy source a line of wheels and tyres when he was seriously let down by a well known Dutch outfit . SO he never actually sold tyres and wheels at inflated prices. Andy has infact got another line of tyres and wheels which allows him to be as if not more competitive... In addition to that Andy actually makes a very small profit preferring to pass the saving on to us.... I could go on.... D Quote
windjammer1599968715 Posted July 13, 2007 Report Posted July 13, 2007 @ offshore, every time i speak to andy about tires he allways has time for you to explain, different tires. every time ive orderd stuff he allways tries to do the best deal he can, i think people on here shud try and support him. if i need any more buggy related equipment ill defo be in touch with andy Quote

D No problem with Andy or the shop Dave, I've heard nothing but good stuff about him and I hope it continues. My point is still valid, if it wasn't for the foreign shop(s) selling at much cheaper prices, we in the UK would still be paying much higher. Quote
BenjaminE1979 Posted July 14, 2007 Report Posted July 14, 2007 My own personal experiences from buggywielen have been rubbish. I have ordered from them just the once so it may have been a blip but 2 months waiting before I went elsewhere and NO replys does not go down in my book as good service. In the end Andy sorted me out with a cheaper pair. I guess the shoe could also be on the other foot about this one. If more people sourced from Andy his margins could be even lower than they are now (but that is Andys choice of course). Ped, Glad you got some tyres sorted anyway! Ben Quote
Ped Posted July 14, 2007 Author Report Posted July 14, 2007 Well my new wheels have arrived so I'm happy, ordered them on Thursday and they arrived this morning - must admit the duro tyres do look a wee bit smaller than the ones that are on just now but i'm only talking about an inch difference in height when they are stood next to my existing ones so nothing major. Hopefully these wheels will allow me to break into the 50 mph mark!! Ped Quote
The Flyin Scotsman Posted July 14, 2007 Report Posted July 14, 2007 So what are you doing with the old tyres? did you see my post before about a price for 2 of your old tyres? Cheers, Kev Quote
Ped Posted July 14, 2007 Author Report Posted July 14, 2007 So what are you doing with the old tyres? did you see my post before about a price for 2 of your old tyres? Cheers, Kev Not to sure what i'm doing with them yet kev, I've not decided if i should try to make a set of barrows up with the spares hubs or just try and sell them on as a complete set of bigfoot lites:confused: Honestly have you ever had to swap your lights for barrows yet when racing in Scotland?? Ped:D Ps sorry didn't see your earlier post - its not just the tyres i have spare now its a complete set of lites, if it was just tyres i'd sell you a couple no probs because they would be no use to me ...... pps I'm half canned!!!!! Bloody afternoon drinking its a killer!! Quote
windjammer1599968715 Posted July 14, 2007 Report Posted July 14, 2007 duro tyres do look small to nankang tyres, but i have the eurotrax from prokites used them this arvo and they are sweet Quote
popeyethewelder Posted July 14, 2007 Report Posted July 14, 2007 duro tyres do look small to nankang tyres, but i have the eurotrax from prokites used them this arvo and they are sweet....you mean to tell us you are finally happy with your wheel and tyre set up Matt Quote
Ped Posted July 14, 2007 Author Report Posted July 14, 2007 duro tyres do look small to nankang tyres, but i have the eurotrax from prokites used them this arvo and they are sweet Did you buy the full wheel set up or just the tyres?? And if just the tyres did you manage to fit them to a standard rim?? Ped:D Couple of pic of the size difference - http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f251/Ped1976/14072007463.jpg http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f251/Ped1976/14072007461.jpg Quote

Offshore Posted July 14, 2007 Report Posted July 14, 2007 Duros are better quality than Nankangs - very noticeable at speed! A lot of irregularities in my Nankangs! Quote

Ben a mate had the same thing happen, waited and mailed all the time but got told the guy that deals with them wasnt there this week, this went on a fair while. when they did finally get here they had grooved the the tires all wrong. it stopped me using them so now im going to look in to A/S, in black, from Andy. Ped Posted July 19, 2007 Author Report Posted July 19, 2007 do BFLs fit on standard barrow rims? Yeah thats why they're called Lites - Bigfoot tyres on standard barrow rims.... Ped:D Quote
khooke Posted July 21, 2007 Report Posted July 21, 2007 aha - cool! Ok, so do you need to put a special (wider?) inner tube in a BFL to fill the wider space in the tyre? Quote
Ped Posted July 21, 2007 Author Report Posted July 21, 2007 I suppose you would but only if you run them with tubes - my older Nankang BF lites were tubeless where as my new Duro BF lites came with tubes in them?? I would guess that its all down to personal preference.... Ped Quote

khooke Posted July 21, 2007 Report Posted July 21, 2007 What are the dimensions on the Duro bigfoot lites you are using? I've found a couple of garden supply type stores that carry Duro tyres, but if I ask them for tyres to fit my kite buggy wheels they're obviously not going to have a clue what I'm talking about :-) Quote
Offshore Posted July 22, 2007 Report Posted July 22, 2007 21" Tyre, 8" Rim, 12" Width...... 21x8x12 Quote
Dr-Manic Posted August 17, 2007 Report Posted August 17, 2007 both types of tyre are 21 x12 x 8 there the same size the smaller wheel in that one would be a different tyre size . Nankangs will be like rocking horse doo doo soon as they are no longer in production Quote
