Ped Posted July 9, 2007 Report Posted July 9, 2007 Hey folks I'm thinking its about time i replaced the tyres on my race buggy as they are looking very battered and I've got a few bulges on the tyres side walls that are throwing balance of the wheel out - Its a bit un-nerving blatting along at 40 mph seeing your front tyre bobbing up and down:eek: So before i have a blow out at speed and hurt myself i think i'd best replace them...... So question is where's best / cheapest to get new tyres from and how much will i have to pay for a set of 3?? I see that Prokites are selling complete bigfoot lites at £60 a pop + postage but i only need the tyres so hoping for a good bit cheaper than that:D Cheers in advance Ped:D Quote
Mouthwash Posted July 9, 2007 Report Posted July 9, 2007 Prokites will sell the tyres on their own, ask Andy for a quote. Quote

Offshore Posted July 10, 2007 Report Posted July 10, 2007 Do buggywielen sell just the tyres? Anne, Why would you want to go there when there is a guy in the UK flogging tyres? Support home industry first Quote
Lovekylie Posted July 10, 2007 Report Posted July 10, 2007 Ok what has doing the dishes got to do with tyres or are you trying to put your tyres in the dishwasher again Quote
Anne1599968726 Posted July 10, 2007 Report Posted July 10, 2007 I was just wondering, because buggywielen are reputed to be cheap & reliable (though I've never dealt with them) No idea what dishes have to do with anything? Quote

Snowman Taff Posted July 10, 2007 Report Posted July 10, 2007 I was just wondering, because buggywielen are reputed to be cheap & reliable (though I've never dealt with them) No idea what dishes have to do with anything? "Reliable" read the threads at the beginning of the year! What happened at the beginning of the year?? I can remember a few free deliveries of bigfoots and a quiet period when they were at a big Kite show but what else happened? Personally I have used them 3 times in the past and always had great service and saved loads of money vs current UK prices at THAT time. In my opinion if it wasn't for the likes of Buggywielen selling wheels miles cheaper than we were able to buy in this country, then the likes of Prokites etc would still be selling them for far more money as they all did in the past. I have nothing against supporting local shops etc, but it alway's gripes me that when the UK finally sell at a fair price people start jumping on the companies that got us THOSE reduced prices in the beginning. lol rant over Quote
windjammer1599968715 Posted July 10, 2007 Report Posted July 10, 2007 a duro bigfoot light looks small compared to a nankang bigfoot light, more like a barrow. you have to be carefull wen deciding wat tyres you need i dont think the nankang is available but those eurotrax look well good, has anyone used a eurotrax on a barrow rim Quote
blunderbuggy Posted July 10, 2007 Report Posted July 10, 2007 how many grooves do you want not fussed as i can groove them myself why have you got one? Quote
Ped Posted July 12, 2007 Author Report Posted July 12, 2007 Well thats 3 new Bigfoot lites on there way to me courtesy of Andy at Prokites:D I ended up just ordering 3 new complete wheels as for some reason the tyres themselves aren't really that much cheaper than the full tyre, hub, bearings and spacer set up???? So looks like i'll prob end up making a set of barrow wheels up with my spare set now or see if anyone wants to buy a set of scarred and worn bigfoot lites:eek: Cheers folks Ped:D Quote
