sharpey1 Posted May 31, 2007 Report Posted May 31, 2007 Well it is just about finish apart from a bit more polishing and a back rest. So I thought would let you guys see it to see what you think of it (so be gentle with me) Quote
philpig Posted May 31, 2007 Report Posted May 31, 2007 looks nice have you done it all yourself Quote
popeyethewelder Posted May 31, 2007 Report Posted May 31, 2007 Very nice, good polish job...out of interest, why did you put the bracings on the swan neck? Is this is your first buggy you have made, if it is, brilliant. Are you the guy who's making your own buggies with One Way Pete....have I met you at Cleethorpes? Quote
sharpey1 Posted May 31, 2007 Author Report Posted May 31, 2007 hi philpig in answer to your question I did as much has possible like cut the angles for the Swan neck measured and cut the forks and most of the brackets but I cannot well so I had to hand it over but the biggest job was definitely the polishing what a nightmare. And in answer to afro the foot pegs are in the shared. It seems like everybody is naming their bugs so I have chosen to call it the Scorpion and I may decide to get some graphics made up Quote
adyziv Posted May 31, 2007 Report Posted May 31, 2007 Quality sharpey1 i only dream of buggy's like this. Well done matey. Pass me the angle grinder my Flexi needs a mod erator Quote
sharpey1 Posted May 31, 2007 Author Report Posted May 31, 2007 hi popeye I made a Vmax about six years ago and yes we have met at Cleethorpes how is the new bug working out. It seems like I will have to put a back rest in just to give it a little bit more rigid does a back rest give you this Quote
popeyethewelder Posted May 31, 2007 Report Posted May 31, 2007 hi popeye I made a Vmax about six years ago and yes we have met at Cleethorpes how is the new bug working out. It seems like I will have to put a back rest in just to give it a little bit more rigid does a back rest give you this Well it does, but tbh, if I didnt have a backrest I wouldnt notice any difference rigidity wise, I use a back rest purley for applying maximum pressure on the foot pegs when fully powered....lock and load:D. If you notice all my backrests are small and low now, I use to make higher ones but found they bruised my shoulders after a full days buggying, the smaller version, say to the top of your seat elliminates that problem. Superbug seems ok so far, but still waiting for a decent wind to thrash it and give it a proper testing, only got to 37 in Wales and it felt like it was just ticking over, thinking about putting the Euro Trax on the Asymetric hubs.. When I get round to it my next buggy will be much smaller and run on barrows. Look forward to seeing it and you on the beach Quote
