kite crazy Posted May 14, 2007 Report Posted May 14, 2007 dude i think you need to get a beer and chill out thats what inland flying is like, its ****. go to your beach if you can, t'will be muuuuch better Quote
crut Posted May 14, 2007 Report Posted May 14, 2007 Pffft. A huge chunk of my flying is inland and it always makes me chuckle when people slate it. Yeah it is more bumpy and more interesting. Some times the gusts and average wind speed difference is just too much. However, hanging off an arc, when a few cheeky gusts come into play is great fun. The board speeds up and it puts that smile back on your face. It is just a case of getting used to it Quote
kite crazy Posted May 14, 2007 Report Posted May 14, 2007 yes crut, if the wind is in the right (well actually wrong) direction then it can probably make my spot into one of the worst in the UK, but with an arc its all good Quote

faster4_tec Posted May 14, 2007 Report Posted May 14, 2007 I know the feeling when you are so down you want to get rid of everything and do something else. But don't despair, drink will sort you out and make you think more rationally. my advise, move CLOSER to the beach. Which ain't actually much better as I live about 2miles away from a great beach/site, but even that 2miles (often walk it with dog) makes me get almost angry when the weather stalls out on me and xcweather is pretty good for me. It predicted NO wind for sundays BKSA champs at barrow, and bugger me it was right, more wind in a nursing home Quote

It is just a case of getting used to it lol, hanging off an arc when it's overflying, flapping about like a giant seal and generally just trying to kill you aint no fun. probably more to do with turbulance than gust's. gust's aint too bad,it's the messy s**t thats a pain in the ass!!! crut Posted May 15, 2007 Report Posted May 15, 2007 Learn to fly them, keep the kite moving. Come up to cleeve - the main kite flown there is arcs, and it is generally clean but you get your bumpy days. It takes practice and skill to fly in those conditions, they aren't ideal, but damn, when you get used to them they are fun Quote
