plummet Posted April 12, 2007 Report Posted April 12, 2007 tell me the difference between a wake board and a kite board. apart from the bindings that is. can you use a wakeboard kiting and kiteboard waking? or will the world colapse in a spiralling vortex created by the inappropriate use of boards Quote
Q-bert Posted April 12, 2007 Report Posted April 12, 2007 Try using SEARCH, this has been covered to death in the past. Anything works to a lesser or greater degree. Quote

xdavemarshallx Posted April 12, 2007 Report Posted April 12, 2007 As said, do a search, it has been covered many times. Basically, both have been designed to do what they do best. Wakeboards have alot of rocker and so need alot of power to get going on a kite. They also weigh an absolute tonne compared to kiteboards and have none, or very small fins. They are geberally cheaper, but the bindings can cost a fortune. Kiteboards have much lesser rocker, making it easier to catch an edge wakeboarding and with the fins, much more difficult to perform surface manuvers like surface handlepasses etc. Quote

too much wind Posted April 12, 2007 Report Posted April 12, 2007 search!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! it's Not Difficult Why so much anger dude....... ? No anger just tired of seeing the same questions time and time and time again. The search function is there for a very good reason yet no-one seems to want to use it. 5mins spent searching will quite often yield what you need to know without the need to start another wakeboard or kiteboard thread. One phrase "wakeboard" using the search yielded this: http://community.flexifoil.com/search.php?searchid=1747591 It's so simple it took 1 minute and hey presto all the info you need. Quote

The Geoff Posted April 12, 2007 Report Posted April 12, 2007 I used a kiteboard behind a boat last summer, back-to-back with a wakeboard. The kiteboard has a lot more flex (softer landings), and a much more skatey feel. The wakeboard really digs in and feels like it's cutting through the water, whilst the kiteboard has a looser 'skimmier' feeling. Not being much of a wakeboarder (or kitesurfer for that matter ) I preferred the kiteboard behind the boat, and would really not want to use the wakeboard with a kite. Quote
tom1599968574 Posted April 13, 2007 Report Posted April 13, 2007 [ No anger just tired of seeing the same questions time and time and time again. Isnt that true of every single post on this forum!? I got up on my kiteboard behind our rib, but im not a wakeboarder so i cant compare! Back in the day when men where men, there were only big directional windsurf style boards and true wakeboards. Probably not as easy to ride as a kite style wake but it will work. Quote
