That's Phil - one of the Turbulence team riders and a bloody good freestyler too.

I meant to get down there myself this afternoon but unfortunately, household jobs took precedence but I wasn't too bothered 'cos I've got four straight days of kiting coming up at the end of this week.

Have you just started kiting or are you a regular? There's a N. Wales thread in the meets section too so you can keep up to date with what's happening locally.

See ya,

Si

Started about 12 months ago. I was there most weekends for a time. I've got a little saggy since so can't really call myself a regular now. However, being there today, with such good conditions, has got me yearning again. No doubt I'll be there as soon as I've knocked the dust off the kit.

Aye, thats our Phil, good to see him released from the grasp of er in doors ;) and allowed to play! As I said to you before though mate, I hate you for being out when I was stuck at home :p

For te record, Phil is one of the safest riders I know and normally always wears a lid and almost every photo and video I have of the guy shows him with one on. Really must get back up to the Nova at some point

Hi gallinula :)

Hope you enjoyed shaking the dust off.

Were you the one on the Radsails/Beamers or the Blades? Just trying to put a face to flexinames :D

Heard a rumour there was someone taking photos in a dark jacket and mentioned posting on flexiforums ;) Any landboard pics?

Take care, see you soon,

TallOne.

I wasn't flying that day.

I was refering to real dust (and other assorted junk). At least the kites are on the top of the pile now so I should see them more often.

To be honest I don't consider myself very good (still learning) but I do enjoy what skudding I get to do.

I will be there soon though as I'm looking into getting a buggy and will need some advice/pointers.

For the record I own a 4m Crossfire and a 2m Fury.

We are all still learning :)

Hopefully we got some nice Northerlies coming at last.

A polite request for people to use the area towards the left groine (facing seawards) as a set up area to prevent the spreading out onto the harder sand, keeping it safer for all the other beach users.

I'll tell you what pi**es me off... it's this whole bloody "Oh no, he's not wearing a helmet, let's stone him" attitude that some people seem to have... Get a life FFS!

And before anyone gets all self-righteous, I know it can be a dangerous sport and I know that precautions should be taken but at what point did we decide to do away with intuition and the ability to make OUR OWN decisions based on experience without people meddling where they have no right to?

This thread was supposed to be about Prestatyn... let's stop talking about Phil's helmet (Ooo er!) shall we? ;)

And you'll be the first one on here trying to raise money for the 'Phil is a veggie fund' when he lands on his head. Wear a lid, how much effort is it to put one on and its way cheaper than a wheelchair;)

I knew someone wouldn't be able to resist! One bloody picture and poor old Phil is roundly condemned for what? Being human! And what does he do if he puts his kite down, takes his lid off and trips over a sandcastle and suffers the same injury? You can't predict an accident... ;) Trust me, I know... and in the worst possible way too.

Thanks for the pics, def get the cobwebs off your kit, long nights now so as the Tall one said on Sunday double low tides soon.

Hardly enough wind to get my venom in the air but it did go up at the end of the seesion, thanks for the moral support of everyone else at the beach.

Phil is a brilliant and safe flier. I have his safety more at heart than most and believe me if the wind had been stronger than 10mph he would've had it on, he had his full body armour on, I know this doesn't excuse it but he is an adult!

The Turbulence team do a really good job of ensuring the safety of the North Wales fliers and there were 3 qualified first aiders on the beach that day, i personally feel safe flying alongside them.

I'm just disappointed that the good nature of a passer by taking photos and a really sunny session has ended like this. In future I think I'll be giving out my personal email for photos to be sent to rather than all this.

Phil has asked me to post the following response for him as he is currently at work.

I'd like to thank you all for your concern, I am an adult however and I know the risks when I decide to participate in extreme sports.

I would always recommend wearing a helmet. I always wear knox body armour, and 95% of the time a full face motor cross helmet...I will be sure to have it on tomorrow when i'm flying at 35,000 ft.

I have to give my apologies to Phil for not first posting a picture with the helmet ON!

One more lesson learned.

Anyway, as requested, I will post the images on the North Wales thread (once I find it) and if you want the full size originals I will gladly email them.
