Yep the forecast has basically rooted the East Coast so some re-location is being planned...

stay tuned... :o

That shouldn't be too hard, after all it is only a 5 minute drive from one side of Tassie to the other :D

/i'll get my coat

Ok it's on, due to the forecast we've opted for camping at Narawntapu National Park. (North Coast b/w Devonport and Launie)

Yes there is National Park fees and camping fees and we can't have a fire, BUT the spot is ideal for kiting.

Bakers beach generates great swell in a NW and the lee side gives ample locations for flat water seeking behaviour. The camp is essentially on the water too.

It's just another gathering, so bring your camping gear and food. I'll try to have a communal BBQ and some snags, and a heap of cans for the thirsty crew.

It'll be great if you can make it, sorry the wind gods denied the East Coast, but at least here we should have decent winds.

Cheers,

Sam

Great choice Samio, and now we can blame you if the conditions aren't suitable. Apparently no megaphones allowed at Narawntapu National Park after 6pm.

Outlook for Saturday :

Showers in the west, increasing for a period. Isolated showers elsewhere. Cool to mild with moderate to locally fresh westerly winds, lighter in the east.

Outlook for Sunday :

Scattered showers in the west and far south. Mainly fine elsewhere. Cool with moderate to locally fresh westerly winds, easing later.

Eat your hearts out mainlanders!!

What time do you plan on getting up there Saturday, leaving on the Sunday ?

Im headed up that way this weekend and may look at joining you at some stage, although i wouldn't be camping.

Would there be room on the beach to landboard ? If not, i may just do some static flying

doesn't look like im going to be able to make it up there :(

Parents are going to be taking my car to Devonport to go to a friends place, while i hang out with my brother and his family. Then we are all out to lunch on Sunday before head back to Hobart. Doesn't leave any time to get to the beach :(

Hey guys,

looks like an awesome spot. might have to call in on my next trip north when the winds look good. Us Tassie people are spoilt when it comes to choice and open sandy beach's. any plans to have another attempt of an east coast duck's trip? I'm hanging out for it and am free all of janurary and half of Feb too. JK we should road trip sometime during the holidays and get some good sessions around the state??? any other people with loads of time off?? welcome for suggestions??
