Many have tried to gain access to Wallop other than the festival (me being one of them) but it's a "no go". Too many other people using it at weekends + the AAC need it for training pilots.

We are lucky to get Wallop,;)

There are a number of laws relating to kiting activities laid down by The Civil Aviation Authority and the Ministry of Defence. (Directorate of Airspace Utilisation) Amendments to the laws were made in 1996. Relevant laws are: (Articles 55,56,76, 118 & 121 and Rule 14) The C.A.A. classifies kites as aircraft.

You must not: fly a kite more than 30 metres (100') above ground level within 5 kilometres (3 miles) of an airfield. You should avoid take off and landing flight paths.:p

The aifield gets used very rarely at weekends, which is aright PITA when you can see it from your local spot...

Shame really would be awesome to be able to use it when i wanted...

*dreams of wallops past* 'sigh'

*******s dont appreciate the better sports in life. i would have though that model aeroplanes would be more dangerous to air travel than our 25ish metre lines.

we should put the question to the right people becasue it doesnt make sense to me. espeacially due to the massive space and the appareent infrequent use of the airspace.
