WITH ME BARE 'ANDS! Carnage it was. Ripped 'em limb from limb. But not one of 'em had window's cash. (Reckon the lion knew something though.) Quote

(A) Having to tell your parents that you're gay. :D Quote

Phew, for a while there I thought we'd had 6 pages of durge without a moment of physical violence or tree climbing Reason enough for moderators to remove the thread if ever there was.. So, anyways, moving on....a friend of a friend says his mate had some gyp from a fella down your steet.. number 34. D'ya mind popping round and ripping his head off? (or should I send Pooly) Quote
Steve1599968621 Posted February 20, 2007 Report Posted February 20, 2007 I'm done with head-ripping for now. Does nothing for me karma. I'll pop round and climb a tree in his garden though? Quote
Sand-Yeti Posted February 20, 2007 Report Posted February 20, 2007 I just read through this saga and although the tone of the posts were often quite flippant and fun to read, I feel sincerely sorry for 13window who got ripped off. On the other side of the coin, I was highly impressed with Steve's intervention and willingness to help 13window. I get the impression that you two guys haven't actuallly physically met? We should vote Steve as 'Flexi super hero' for his brave & generous act. He didn't know what he was going to walk into when he banged on the door of that strange house. Three cheers for Steve hip! hip! Quote
Steve1599968621 Posted February 20, 2007 Report Posted February 20, 2007 Blimey, steady on you lot, no heroics here! I only did what I hope someone would do for me, cos I hate people getting ripped off, and the 'ripper offerer' was local. And it's not a happy ending, cos Sam's still out pocket and lensless. And no, me and 13window have never even spoken with voices! Quote

Three cheers for Steve hip! hip! Ha ha... you actually believe Steve went round?? I heard he parked round the corner and sent his ickle daughter with a threatening note I'm loving this new form of quasi-pacifist payback.. Waiting for a full-on hurricane, then mentally torturing bad-uns by going and climbing their tallest tree with a big 'ebay ripper offer' flag draping from your back pocket... Anyways, ya Steve, pop round no34 and do your rip.. you gotta wait till it's blowing 50+ though. I like Quote
13window Posted February 20, 2007 Author Report Posted February 20, 2007 I am truly grateful for what Steve has done, there aren't many people that are willing to step in and help out in other people's problems (especially for someone they don't even know!) So Thankyou Steve. (and @ Oceag I did offer Steve 'Real' pints in a PM! ) Quote
Crispy Posted February 20, 2007 Report Posted February 20, 2007 Three cheers for Steve hip! hip! Hurrah! Top man Steve, nice one. Quote
Morb Posted February 20, 2007 Report Posted February 20, 2007 And no, me and 13window have never even spoken with voices! Grooming. Quote
Steve1599968621 Posted February 23, 2007 Report Posted February 23, 2007 (and @ Oceag I did offer Steve 'Real' pints in a PM! ) Better than real pints, I've been offered a free weekend for me and a guest in 13window's new B&B in Cornwall! Very chuffed and grateful, but still feel like I never really did owt! Not like it's sorted yet. Further update: I got a call yesterday from our phished and set-up 'seller' checking on progress and seeing how things are going. That tiny bit of doubt I had has evaporated, he's doing all he can too to resolve it. Quote
Steve1599968621 Posted February 23, 2007 Report Posted February 23, 2007 Cornnwall's way too far for me. She's much nicer than you Morb Quote
13window Posted March 1, 2007 Author Report Posted March 1, 2007 Tis now in the hands of the police.......... We shall see if they are more helpful than ebay!! Quote
Floyde Posted March 1, 2007 Report Posted March 1, 2007 Just read through this thread.. firstly.... Top bloke Steve.. fecking nice to have someone willing to get involved in a helpful way when you feel your too far away from the problem to do anything! I reckon everyones gonna want Steve as a mate now... it'll be legend on the beaches.. "Steve?.. what, big Steve?.. Yeah, mate of mine.. known him for years!" 13Window... Really feel for ya mate. Surely if yo have got bank details for the transaction then this person can be traced? I'm gonna be positive for ya mate and say that you'll get ya cash back.. you may have to wait a wee while for the paper chase and police/bank interaction, but I reckon something will get sorted fella. Fingers crossed for ya. P.s. Nice choice of lens and had it been a legit sale it would have been the deal of the fecking centuary mate!! I can't afford a 2.8 canon glass but I could at that price!! Good luck mate! Quote

Good luck mate! Cheers mate, yeah was chuffed when I won it but suppose should have realised at that price it was ' too good to be true!'. Lesson Learnt now though. I'm hoping the police are going to do more than ebay, who were feckin useless, all I got was automated emails or links to another department. Saying that I'm still waiting for a phonecall from the police............!! Quote
13window Posted March 16, 2007 Author Report Posted March 16, 2007 Just had a call from the melton copshop, only taken 3 weeks for the details to get there He's going to look through the details and 'see what he can do'! I think this might take quite a long time to sort out, probably not very important from there point of view though. Oh yeah, he also said sending 'my mate' Steve round was probably not the best idea............oops!! Quote
13window Posted April 19, 2007 Author Report Posted April 19, 2007 Quick update.. Police have been round to the house where Steve went, suprise suprise they don't think they are linked to the scam! Also the money was paid into a bank account in Croydon so the case will probably be transferred to Croydon station. Only taken a month for them to figure that out. Quote

13window Posted April 19, 2007 Author Report Posted April 19, 2007 Cheers Steve. The officer dealing with it hasn't been helpful at all and says he dosn't think I'll get my money back Hopefully if it gets transferred to another station it may get taken more seriously. Quote
