Hi Martin, yeah I know WS well! I live about 5-10 min walk away!

Not been out today though, had to face facts and go car shopping since my current one is on its last legs - so no new kite gear for me :(

Dont think I'll be out tomorrow either, got to finish off the car shopping then got plans with the other half. Total waste of a good weekend!

Should hopefully be out next weekend if the weathers any good.

Got to East Witterings, walked West a couple of groins, lifting my buggy over the fences each time. Picked a dry spot, set up a kite. Got everything ready, went to hook in & NO SNATCH BLOCK! The fcucking thing had fallen off somewhere:mad:. Packed everything away, towed the buggy back, retracing my route (sweating like a rapist by now). Dragged it up the shingle bank & there it was on the floor:cool:. Turned round & done the whole thing again:o. Lesson learnt, now i connect my safety line to my block whenever i un-hitch.

I need this week at work to recover in time for next weekend.

Aye oop:D

We is back from the land of ice & snow. All in one piece (apart from this thodding cold) & with big smiles.

Cheryl & Sid can now officially be called snowboarders after their exploits on the mountain last thursday:cool:... one day they may even be persuaded to leave the blades at home!

Holiday vid here :)

I thought you were boarding a bit close to the edge of the ridge at the begining:eek:. Then you turned right at the person sat on the floor & went over it:eek:. Looked like you were braking a lot.

Got any more?

Got your A09 tickets yet?

Anyone planning on being out this weekend weather depandant?! I'm going try my luck and see if anyone would possibly be willing to provide some verbal support (not abuse!) as I'm hoping to get a landboard by the weekend. Got to learn some time!

Either way, if I know where is less busy, I can keep out the way of other kite flyers.

Yeah, we'll probably be around somewhere or other:) Where will somewhat depend on the wind & the weather this week:rolleyes:

@DanR - Have someone take a look at your strop / safety before you fly hooked in, in too much wind. Its a very different feeling to flying unhooked all the time.

Thanks for the comment g0nz0.

I'm not aiming at using a harness for a while yet, I asked as it was something I was trying to work out the other day. I'm more than happy taking my time to learn!!!

Yep, and i'll still go back to LH, as we'll never get away from dog walkers/hedge's anywhere we fly in land. Hence we have 6 long weekends booked up for this year so far to head to lush had packed beach (well ok 5 out of 6 is har packed).

Personally I find the best place to fly in land in a southerly round to a Westerly is Hudsons, as it's even bigger and lovely grass.

WS isn't the sort of place a whole group of kiters can spend a day. It's ideal for me as it's on my doorstep & i can nip out for an hour or so when the wind is right. I had a couple of hours there today & i'll probably do the same tomorrow.

With a bit of luck i'll be at WW Friday.

Good new and bad news....

Just exchanged on a house in Totton (finally! a new place away from the d'chavs...)

It's a mess and requires gutting to no flying for a while as my weekends will now be full :(

Cool, so whens the party??!!

As long as the roof doesn't leak, so your kites are dry, then come flying!!

Good luck with that T118. My previous house was a derelict repossesion that the drug squad had made a right mess of with their battering ram:eek:. It took over my life for far too long. Damn near killed me.

Not sure if this has been coverd before but does anyone know if you can kite/board in the grass fields off Stokes Bay Road, between Gosport and Lee on Solent?

Just thought I'd check incase there is a ban or a problem

Don't know if there's any ban but couple of times I've seen people kiting out there.

There are signs at Stokes bay saying no kite boarding, positioned around the grass area.

At Lee-on-Solent where the kite surfers go there are signs in the car park saying no kiteboarding on the green, but i know that people still do it.

If you're going to board in "Controversial" spots, then you may as well go to Southsea Common. It's a lot bigger.

Didn't go to WW today, my window cable decided to snap so i had to fix it. My car seems to be falling apart at the mo. This is my 4th repair job now:(.

I might got to EW tomorrow pm if the wind is right like it's predicting. Low tide at 4pm so on the beach for 2pm, should have 3 hours before it gets too dark. Anyone else?

Ok cheers for letting me know martin. I'd rather not board in controversial spots so I'll stick to the spots I know. May try PS tomorrow and give boarding my first go :s
