What kites are out there specifically for a buggy? ideally with plenty of power, stability but very little lift and not silly money? I have a couple of bullets which seem to fit the bill and an Ozone fury that seems rather sluggish, anything else? (remember I want to stay on the ground):)

little or no life then theres only really one and thats the Gin YOZ. i have just taken delivery of the 3 i needed to complete my set.

best kites i have found for buggy ground free style. loads and loads of power but you can throw the kite straight up and be confedent your not going up. i fly the 4.8 in mid 20's and trust is.

if your around the gloucestershire area and want to fly then come play with them.

I'm with Scud on this one... PKD Brooza's all the way!

Nice and stable. Good power although they can be a tad lifty if you hoik 'em straight through the window - a phenomenon I've encountered on more than one occasion. ;) :D Good ability to handle gusty conditions and the build quality is excellent...

Oh my God, I think I just became a brand pimp!

See ya,

Hi what buggy have you got?

As IMHO if a big race style set up, V-Max minimum, you can afford to go for deadicated race kites, as looking for speed.

Yakuza, Razor, JoJo's, Libre's, Centurys etc etc to name a few.

Depending on skill level and size of yoru regular speed strip, may wish to go for lower aspect in the smaller sizes for high winds as more stable.

Sammys, Fury, Bullets/Rage, even PKD Busters will do fine.

NB You say yoru Fury is a tad sluggish, true as it is aimed at novices, but for high wind use it's pretty good as quite stable and not prone to sudden accleration that can catch you out. Also it is realitivly cheap, ok not as cheap as some cheap kites, but does come with very good lines, which I find some cheap brands are let down by. Shame as it is normaly high winds where you get that sudden oomph that snaps lines :(

If in small buggy, Flexi/PL comp/Xr type and fly in smaller areas then, IMHO do not go for high aspect race kites, as they do like to have a bit of weighy in the buggy with a good foot print to give good grip so as not to get pulled sideways, as you fly them lower in the winow etc.

Small sizes, again IMHO go low/mid aspect as above.

For mid/low winds you can either get bigger versions of the mid aspects, or you can even look at Riots/Blades as nice freeride kites, ok Blades are lifty but in lighter winds with bigger slower kites the luft can be controlled.

The Riot is a nice free ride kite as well (know of a new 7m going for a nice price :p lol).

NB I know you said no lift, but if free riding/messing about insmall buggies then having a little bit of lift/support is nice for doing some ground based trick and throwing it about :)

If it is just cruising about then the Access is worth looking at, ok it is on a bar but its quite a small bar and the de-power makes it quite usefull for those variable wind days, as well as killing power on the turns when you climb it.

I use the 6m, ok I'm o a board, but great for high wind speed runs :)

Hope that helps a bit.

Ozone access looks to be a good route to go down for me at least but it's entering the silly money bracket really(ask the wife) I like the idea of a bigger wind range and less kites needed possibly. Maybe just wait whilst everyone rushes off to buy de-power and I'll pick up their cast offs really cheap!

If your into buggying and want to stay on the ground, what about a 6.5m flexifoil viper? I have a VGC 6.5m viper with rucksack, handles, lines, etc. Really nice kite...

Very good lighter wind kite and you don't get lofted by it as it produces forward speed and not loads of lift. I'm wanting £120 inc. postage.

What kite also depends on where you fly. Inland with gusts makes the race kite types difficult to fly. I use a 5.5 firebee, realy low lift, cheap, reasonable pull BUT it is a handfull in gusts. My limited experience with other folks with things like the Access is that they fly in a wide range of winds BUT at the high wind they are not that fast. The seem to have a narrow band where they are as good as a normal kite. However you could find you wnt faster with 2 or 3 chaep kites instead of an ACESS
