Porkchop Posted October 11, 2006 Report Posted October 11, 2006 Mark - Nick's migraines & headaches have been getting worse and more frequent, so the doctor wanted a scan done to see if there's a problem. Matt - kites are easy to wash.....rinse in the bath with mild detergent, put inside a quilt cover and spin it dry in the washing machine. If you want to miss out the bath part, just put the kite in a quilt cover and wash it in the machine on a 30 degree wash with mild detergent. By the way, I'm answering for Nick as he is busy playing Lego Star Wars with Dave on the 360! EDIT: Matt.....remember to take the lines and handles/bar off before washing!!!!
softmint Posted October 11, 2006 Report Posted October 11, 2006 just leave it paul it aint worth it they just get upset they be ok when theres is up and running
GrolschUK Posted October 11, 2006 Report Posted October 11, 2006 I don't think anyone has anything against the LKP looks to be a good freestyle venue, and most have said they would use it, although the 200 quid price tag is a little steep for a year considering there is a number of beaches close by (just as far for me) that in the right winds are free and longer runs. in crappy beach winds, day passes are great, but still expensive for a family to go. As for ABW people seem to be getting temp bans for mentioning them in a lot less light than other shops, services, suggestions that are out there.
GrolschUK Posted October 11, 2006 Report Posted October 11, 2006 Softmint, again you have only posted to defend lkp rather than join in the general banter and see others points of view
Porkchop Posted October 11, 2006 Report Posted October 11, 2006 Hi Jamie, meant to say thanks a lot for your help with RiTchie and his stuff the other week, it was really kind of you.
Heinz.57 Posted October 11, 2006 Report Posted October 11, 2006 I just knew that one of the resident geniuses would have a solution!! Many, many thanks Vicky, two damn hours, and one wet bathroom floor later, and all i acheived was a streaky kite!! Does the process tangle the bridles much?? give Dave a nudge and tell him Matt said "left, left,LEFT,no,no,NO,LEFT,LEEEFT!!!":D
GrolschUK Posted October 11, 2006 Report Posted October 11, 2006 Not a problem dear, glad he's ok and all kit got home safe and sound (and i now have a 6.5 biv to play on for a bit ) Would hope people would do the same for me if they found my head burried in the sand. Tell nick that we hope nothing is too bad, although lego starwars can take most the pain away, whisky can help with the rest...
coupe-se Posted October 11, 2006 Report Posted October 11, 2006 What do you lot have against the LKP.????? Nothing at all tbh. It is soooo funny to wind people up who are soooo ott about it and protective. I tend to post stuff up to provoke a reaction. If people replied with some good natured banter calling me a tight sod or similar I'd laugh. Its is just plain hilarious to see certain people go off on one defending it and only ever post on here to talk about the LKP. :D Just to add that because alot of you don't know us that well, you probably don't tune into our humour and realise when we are on a bit of a wind up or being plain stoopid!!1 I posted less than you have about Airboss and my posts got deleted!!!
mrbig Posted October 11, 2006 Report Posted October 11, 2006 They didn't make me a cup of tea in Airboss.......but i did try a flexifoil flexdeck and other makes.....There was a young lady that helped me choose a harness... Maybe you need to mention flexifoil in the same sentance as Airboss.
softmint Posted October 11, 2006 Report Posted October 11, 2006 when we all started with the banter peeps got upset so left it, aint protective about it just it seems peeps dont want things to work, and when the beaches get banned as more are well have nowhere to fly thats worth wile, if were welcome well try again but it i dont want to be persicuted for it.
Porkchop Posted October 11, 2006 Report Posted October 11, 2006 Matt - the bridals will be fine......Nick normal just knots the ends. Softmint - there is a difference between banter and personally insulting people............when you learn the difference your posts will be welcomed with open arms! (Nick and Dave have gone off to discuss and sort through Nick's Terry Pratchet collection) CARL - HELLLLLLLLOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!
Porkchop Posted October 11, 2006 Report Posted October 11, 2006 They didn't make me a cup of tea in Airboss.......but i did try a flexifoil flexdeck and other makes.....There was a young lady that helped me choose a harness... Maybe you need to mention flexifoil in the same sentance as Airboss. The young lady is Ellie and she is Gary's wife.........if they don't make/offer you a cup of tea, just ask!!!
GrolschUK Posted October 11, 2006 Report Posted October 11, 2006 So whats the chance of Jo and myself being able to gatecrash the crimbo meal? there anywhere reasonable close by to stay? or not a good idea? Thinking a good idea to get to chat to people more (and get jo talkin)
Porkchop Posted October 11, 2006 Report Posted October 11, 2006 So whats the chance of Jo and myself being able to gatecrash the crimbo meal? there anywhere reasonable close by to stay? or not a good idea? Thinking a good idea to get to chat to people more (and get jo talkin) You are more than welcome to join the meal..........just add your names to the list. If you're not fussy, you can kip on our lounge floor if you have a couple of airbeds;) . If you want somewhere a bit better, there is a Travel Lodge next to the Harvester (on the edge of the Showground).
GrolschUK Posted October 11, 2006 Report Posted October 11, 2006 sounds good, will ask her what she wants to do. what date is it again (am lazy and dont wanna look for thread 22
coupe-se Posted October 11, 2006 Report Posted October 11, 2006 sounds good, will ask her what she wants to do. what date is it again (am lazy and dont wanna look for thread 22 Saturday 16th December at 7.00pm - venue to be confirmed!
GrolschUK Posted October 11, 2006 Report Posted October 11, 2006 hmmmm, i *think* that could be our corprate crimbo doo evening... bugga... will have to let ya know...
GrolschUK Posted October 11, 2006 Report Posted October 11, 2006 Yep 99% sure tis... unless you lot want to change venue to a black tie doo in loughborough... Doh
coupe-se Posted October 11, 2006 Report Posted October 11, 2006 They didn't make me a cup of tea in Airboss.......but i did try a flexifoil flexdeck and other makes.....There was a young lady that helped me choose a harness... Maybe you need to mention flexifoil in the same sentance as Airboss. You need to tell them that youv'e made the effort to travel a long way to go there and SPEND money at their shop, so a cuppa's the least they can do Gary and Elly would grin at you probably say "fair enough" Softmint, you need to lighten up and interact in a more personable way. The lectures and grand statements just don't do it for me I'm afraid. Myself and others really don't need convincing about flying sites and the merits of places to fly. EDIT Just to add that all are welcome to the Chrimbo meal. Grolsch you are part of our group as much as anyone else and you certainly are not a gate crasher mate!! If things change, it would be graet for you and Jo to join us and join the early morning pi$$ up at my place.
davo1599968642 Posted October 11, 2006 Report Posted October 11, 2006 evening, just back in my seat from nick's and vicky's, lego star wars is cool, prefer good old ,the green one nick,is it babba the bounty hunter has a BIG gun, a one hit wonder. Good to see steve back, wonder what or who said anything at flexi? good that they saw the light, Matt -have a present from nick for you.
coupe-se Posted October 11, 2006 Report Posted October 11, 2006 has anybody else ever tried cleaning their kites in the bath?? :( with hindsight, not one of my better ideas! As Vicky said... Big kites ...... fill the bath with warm water and I use a mild shampoo in the water and dump the kite in and leave for a few hours to soften the muck up. I then use the shower to rinse the kite or peg it to the washing line and rinse it with a hose. If the kite just has surface mud/marks I lay it on the lounge floor and use shampoo in warm water and use a cloth to wipe it clean. It takes a couple of hours but is well worth it. Smaller kites 4m and smaller I remove the lines and tie the 4 bridle ends together. I then put the kite in a quilt cover and stuff it in the washing machine. I use the silk setting on the machine with a small amount of washing liquid. The kite will come out like new and none of my kites have ever suffered any ill effects from this and quite a few others on the forum do the same. Leaving your kite out on the lawn in rain is pretty good as well. The rainwater is soft and after an hour or two the muck is softened and starts being washed off. One of my Frenzys had a bloody good wash in a rain storm and looked alot better for it.
davo1599968642 Posted October 11, 2006 Report Posted October 11, 2006 you should see the size of Oscars chewy bone, it's as big as him....
coupe-se Posted October 11, 2006 Report Posted October 11, 2006 The Star Wars character is Boba Fett, son of Jango Fett ............... guess where Jango got his forum name from?? Not sure Oscar would like his 'bone' refered to as chewy!! :p OH .......sorry ....... you mean his rawhide chew, which is a tad on the big side
coupe-se Posted October 11, 2006 Report Posted October 11, 2006 Oh dear ...... post 278 on the Lincs thread AND an official announcement on the LKP thread.......... talk about High Drama!! Seems some very damaging allegations have been made I find that most people make an effort to be friendly and certainly don't tend to be confrontational when getting to know new people. I think all of us do/have got on with the Lincs lads and it seems to be 2 people who have the problem with us and won't let it lie and pass over.
