ezstevie Posted September 22, 2006 Report Posted September 22, 2006 Hi guys, Just watched this link on the BBC website. Hurricain Gordon has caused some big swells down in the sou'west. Best waves I have seen at Fistral: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/cornwall/5368856.stm Quote
Kiteboyza Posted September 22, 2006 Report Posted September 22, 2006 yep, we got the same at Freshwater east in Wales. Heading down tomoz for the Welsh open....some longboarding comp aswell and that should be fun Quote
Jangla Posted September 22, 2006 Report Posted September 22, 2006 I was down that way last week and to be fair, the surf at Crantock, Watergate, Lusty Glaze and Fistral was fantastic and at times way more than 2.5m (pretty choppy though). Sounds like they've had a good run of excellent waves - highest tide in decades plus this hurricaine. Wednesday to Friday of last week was superb - wish I was still there Also heard that someone fell off a 50ft cliff while flying a kite down there - news report was very light on info and didn't mention whether they were dragged off by a power kite or just fell while not looking where they were going with another kind of kite. Crap reporting IMHO Quote
lesbond Posted September 22, 2006 Report Posted September 22, 2006 I check this website for surf reports around the country and there's some great pictures of a surf comp. held yesterday at Fistral and also of some epic surf last year at a reef at Newquay called the Cribbar which holds enourmous swell. http://www.a1surf.com/ Quote
