Spudley Posted March 30, 2007 Author Report Posted March 30, 2007 Our NooNOo likes to help - probably because he is bored at work! Spud/NN I have booked up for 27 Apr £48 - bargain as long as the caravan is useable and not a acomplete state. Not that I plan to spend anytime in it. DM Cool, should be a good w/end. lets hope for some wind.
gigglefairy Posted March 30, 2007 Report Posted March 30, 2007 Will any of you be around during the day next week? I'm desperate to get flying again (haven't done it in ages), and am on half-term. I'm still pretty new to the sport and wouldn't like to fly on my own. Any chance of a bit of a meet up? please... giggle. x

Noo Noo Posted March 31, 2007 Report Posted March 31, 2007 kite sorted. Pick upfrom H20 tomorrow and they're open early. forecast looks OK swinging a bit more easterly we hope. high tide mid morning so kiting on a retreating tide i guess. Anythoughts DM? Don't see any problems.
Spudley Posted March 31, 2007 Author Report Posted March 31, 2007 sounds ok col. tide wont make much difference sandbanks side. you up for an early start then?
badgerb Posted March 31, 2007 Report Posted March 31, 2007 truth is I hope to spread my wings a bit more, the harbour is starting to get stupid busy. Really small set up and launch area too at high tide so real care needed on the launch. Personallly I advise people to walk out a wee bit. The Harbour gets a funny high tide but is kiteable at all levels I think that covers it Have you thought of Southbourne beach. My parents live down there and I often see kitesurfers leaving the beach by a little resturant called Bistro On The Beach, dosn't seem too busy with plenty of sea for all? Neil
Just Wanna Kite Posted March 31, 2007 Report Posted March 31, 2007 Hey went down to Hengisbury head today, it was way to windy even for my 9m, i was over powered and the wind was like 20mpm and gusting 30mph so we gave up lol. It was a bit stuip looking back on it but funny though. Ordering the bang pimp board this week way haa.

Just Wanna Kite Posted April 1, 2007 Report Posted April 1, 2007 Sorry paul i only just got saw that post, i would of liked to come out today, what was it like?
Spudley Posted April 1, 2007 Author Report Posted April 1, 2007 Sorry paul i only just got saw that post, i would of liked to come out today, what was it like? different! good wind when we got there, then it died off, then it came back with a vengeance. big swell out the back and some awesome riders out in the mental winds. I ache now, riding the swell takes its toll on the legs
DjMoz Posted April 1, 2007 Report Posted April 1, 2007 Sounds like it was okay. Forgot to mention - the open sea is probably twice as hard on your body than the nice flat poole harbour. Hope it was good though. Cant wait for full details.
Noo Noo Posted April 2, 2007 Report Posted April 2, 2007 Have you thought of Southbourne beach. My parents live down there and I often see kitesurfers leaving the beach by a little resturant called Bistro On The Beach, dosn't seem too busy with plenty of sea for all? Neil Howdy Badger. May give it a go but only on the right day. Unfortunately a kitesurfer died at Southbourne this winter and it sounds like a beach for the not so feint hearted. Big waves, tides making life very difficult. Have a look at kiteboarder.co.uk under the "Safe House". Extremely sad and makes you realise how useless you really are. Forgot to mention - the open sea is probably twice as hard on your body than the nice flat poole harbour. Cant wait for full details. Yes DM just left out that minor detail. Oh yes big learning day in many many ways. Big Sea and changing conditions. Remember I told you it looked flat DM? It wasn't. Disappeared into some mighty big holes and had to climb the odd mountain. I personally gained a lot from yesterdays outing - from getting out through the shore break, the chop, the swell, walks of shame, body dragging and to cap it all a self rescue followed by another walk of shame. After all that we were able to watch a few experienced riders ripping it up while the majority of us were sand blasted on the beach.
DjMoz Posted April 2, 2007 Report Posted April 2, 2007 Who was out on the front, anyone we know or just general locals / visitors? Sounds like it was a good show.
Noo Noo Posted April 2, 2007 Report Posted April 2, 2007 Mixed bag with a few of people I knew and quite a few I didn't. Mainly local people I think. Some of the shop guys were out too. Most were very well powered on 9m bows in the afternoon and getting some really nice height on the jumps. They were doing some nice rotations, transitions and stuff. Just a good standard of riding making it look easy.
Noo Noo Posted April 3, 2007 Report Posted April 3, 2007 Oh dear looks like the wind curse is upon us again for this WE. Maybe we'll get some luck Sunday / Monday but i doubt it at the moment
jamie06 Posted April 5, 2007 Report Posted April 5, 2007 Nice weather just a shame that there is like zero wind. Jez do you know if alex has managed to untangle the birds nest of kite lines??
