Noo Noo Posted March 13, 2007 Report Posted March 13, 2007 The guy with the Guerrilla is a regular, started last summertime and getting on well with my old board. Its rude but I cant remember his name at the moment, saw him on Sunday as well. Heard Saturday had a few visitors - How was the wind? Sunday was good, possibly better wind. Glad you liked it. Who was the guy with the Guerrilla that i was talking to? Not Julian was it?
Spudley Posted March 13, 2007 Author Report Posted March 13, 2007 Who was the guy with the Guerrilla that i was talking to? Not Julian was it? Jeremy, 11m red g2
happytechie Posted March 13, 2007 Report Posted March 13, 2007 it was a yellow G2 13m iirc, defo a 13 and not an 11, apologies to the chap but it was windy, we both had helmets on and I was trying to remember how to fly a phantom at the time. He did mention that he'd seen my earlier post in this thread so he might announce his name at some point. Anyway I'll probably be back at the weekend if my legs have recovered. Paul
Noo Noo Posted March 13, 2007 Report Posted March 13, 2007 Gee's big apologies. This is getting very embarressing now. Might be about at the weekend. See what the weather brings.
DjMoz Posted March 13, 2007 Report Posted March 13, 2007 NN and Spud we all know him, I remember now its Jaime.

badgerb Posted March 13, 2007 Report Posted March 13, 2007 Hi all seems like I missed a busy day on Saturday. Got out on Sunday about 11 and the place was quiet just three kites up, me a group of four and one other whose name I can't remember but I pointed him in the forums direction. Might try and blag some time out this Sat but am on call, if not may have to beat the wife into submission and say she can come and watch on Sunday. lol:D see ya soon Neil
Noo Noo Posted March 14, 2007 Report Posted March 14, 2007 Hello All / Jamie. Big sorry fella. Head in a bit of a twist as usual. Still not decided on my weekend plans. Still a bit weak after the old stomach bug. Forecast showing some promise but it always does that to me. However if it stays as is the coast looks a strong possibility.

crash_emma Posted March 14, 2007 Report Posted March 14, 2007 Hi All We were going to join you on Saturday but forgot where you all fly so ended up at Queens Parade again. Mud wasnt tooooooo bad considering. Although certain pieces of clothing may never be the same again. lol Least the kite survived with minimal mud and got some reasonable wind to try out the new kite with. Looks like you had a good turn out though - Queens Parade had about 4/5 different flyers so not bad. Might try and meet you guys next time the weather looks good!
Noo Noo Posted March 15, 2007 Report Posted March 15, 2007 Hmmm just checked the weather forecast again. plenty to think about.
DjMoz Posted March 15, 2007 Report Posted March 15, 2007 Sunday is looking Nuclear, Saturday is looking more managable. May be tempted for a coast visit. DM
Noo Noo Posted March 15, 2007 Report Posted March 15, 2007 I'm up for it. A little bit of timing to sort but otherwise............ My Doodle Bug can do it if everyone's up for a bit of a squeeze and we're a little economic with kit.
Spudley Posted March 16, 2007 Author Report Posted March 16, 2007 sounds like a plan, what time you want to go?
DjMoz Posted March 16, 2007 Report Posted March 16, 2007 Okay Saturday it must be....looking at tides and wind and temperature. High tide in poole is morning 8am roughly, low tide mid afternoon - but dropping fast from midday. Temperature on Saturday looks spot on +10 possibly up to 14/15. Wind looks like it should be in the 15-20mph range probably starting lighter and building to midday. Sunday looks much stronger wind and possible rain and will be colder. Wind both days is Westerly with a touch of North. I take it NN & Spud would prefer Poole or we could head to Hillhead in these winds to avoid the crowds, otherwise I suggest getting to Poole early - 9am? Let me know.
Noo Noo Posted March 16, 2007 Report Posted March 16, 2007 might need a couple of hours AM. I'll give you guys a call when I'm sorted. tide shouldn't be a huge issue I dont think - provided there's enough wind. get right out back ASAP
Fire Exit Posted March 17, 2007 Report Posted March 17, 2007 Hi Guys Good to see you're all still at it, which unfortunately I haven't been as I don't have the time these days. Still always nice to see the kites up on the way past Crabtree. I've just put a post up in the for sale section for my red 9.5M Sabre if anyone is interested, it's only been up a few times and is in v good condition. I'm also selling my old exit camo mountain board, it's not the greatest kite board in the world but it's fully functional and would be great for a beginner, especially as I won't be asking too much for it. PM me if you're interested in either, I'm only over the road from Crabtree so can meet most evenings so you can check them out. I'm keeping the Bullet and Flexdeck for now so hopefully will see you all again at some time when the evenings are longer. Cheers Paul
DjMoz Posted March 18, 2007 Report Posted March 18, 2007 Good to hear from you Paul. Great day Saturday, sorry about the kite Col but hopefully can be fixed okay. Thanks for lending the DVDs Spud, Mark Shinn is excellent and getting a few tips from the progression DVD, next session I will be a master.... DM
Spudley Posted March 18, 2007 Author Report Posted March 18, 2007 Cool, I really struggled to get through the nights work:eek: . Worth it though, that was another awesome session.
Just Wanna Kite Posted March 18, 2007 Report Posted March 18, 2007 Hey paul, good news my brother is getting me that Bang Pimp board for my B'day prezi and also im getting a 9m flexi fusion with the money i got so i should be set to get on the water. Can't wait :-), looking forward to the trip in april. Jez
DjMoz Posted March 18, 2007 Report Posted March 18, 2007 Wow J not bad getting presents like that. What has made you decide on the Flexi fusion? Interested to know as the G2 will be as good as anything for the first few sessions. Saying that a friend flys Fusions and I know they are as good as many out there. I am sure you did struggle Spud, my legs are feeling it today more than I expected.
DjMoz Posted March 18, 2007 Report Posted March 18, 2007 Also, I reckon we should arrange a wakeboarding day. A no wind weekend we should head up to JB or Princes. NN, Spud, myself, Jamie, Jeremy, alex and anyone else. There are a few of us that are regulars and interested in kitesurfing so le me know if you are up for it. A bit of board skills practice.
gigglefairy Posted March 19, 2007 Report Posted March 19, 2007 Hey, Sorry to gatecrash your thread. We live in Reading and are failing miserably to get out flying pretty much ever. Part of the problem is that we still haven't found a decent place to fly. Where abouts in Basingstoke/surrounding area do you fly? Any spaces suitable for a couple of beginner landboarders?! Thank you lotsly giggle. xx
Spudley Posted March 19, 2007 Author Report Posted March 19, 2007 Hi kate, the best spot is probably crabtree. works best in e-s-or w winds, from the m3 jct6 turn left at the main roundabout, follow signs to black dam ponds(1st turn on the left) park in the ponds car park, walk under the subway and follow path bearing left. as the path heads up the hill you will see the field, ideally the wind blows up the hill,if it is then go at least halfway up the hill to avoid wind shadow from the trees at the bottom!! also be aware of the picnic tables at the top of the hill if boarding/buggying:eek: hope that helps you gigglefairy:)
