Big Daddy Posted July 8, 2007 Author Report Posted July 8, 2007 Wicked bbq yesterday, thanks dudes. Sorry I left before tidying;). Wolfie and nemo looked a bit 'gone' when I left, hope you're okay. Roll on next weekend......... Quote
Wolf boy Posted July 8, 2007 Report Posted July 8, 2007 Yeah Cheers for last night Squares and nemo. Think I owe you some alcohol as I did end up drinking quite a lot:D Hopefully see you all soon. Quote
nemo_sushi Posted July 8, 2007 Report Posted July 8, 2007 Always a pleasure.... I dont actually remember going to bed.. Think I may have been a little drunk.. Quote
air stiffler Posted July 9, 2007 Report Posted July 9, 2007 Sounds like you guys had a great time. I was dragged around London all weekend looking at rings. I really can't understand the bird's fascination with them myself. Bird says; Oh rich that one looks really nice, Oh rich this one looks so good on me. Rich says; Oh **** off its windy I wanna go play. (if only she knew!! ) Quote
Squares Posted July 9, 2007 Report Posted July 9, 2007 Always a pleasure.... I dont actually remember going to bed.. Think I may have been a little drunk.. noisy_lightning Posted July 9, 2007 Report Posted July 9, 2007 Anyone going to be free during the afternoons this week? My shifts mean that I should be able to get some flying in this week when I am off work. Hopefully the weather will hold out and can actually get some decent time in. Also while I am o the topic, have any of you flown at Abersoch in North Wales? I am off up there for a Wake boarding/Music Festival type event the end of the month and wondering what the beech is like that way? Looks good from the google earth photos. Quote
Squares Posted July 9, 2007 Report Posted July 9, 2007 Have rung a couple of the van places and because it's the summer hols we can't get one for the weekend....may have to camp instead..i'll look into it. All the salisbury show stuff has aready gone from hudsons so will definately be up for some after work sessions this week if the conditions look good. Quote
noisy_lightning Posted July 9, 2007 Report Posted July 9, 2007 This evening would have been a good option but left it too late now with all the other stuff I have had to get done. I finish work at 1pm all week so I will either be up around 2pm till around 5pm or aim for 6ish after I have had some grub. Will post before I set off either way. Quote
noisy_lightning Posted July 11, 2007 Report Posted July 11, 2007 If the wind keeps up tonight I am going to head down around 6ish. Quote
Big Daddy Posted July 11, 2007 Author Report Posted July 11, 2007 I think wolf boy took you to bed at about midnight ;) Quote
Big Daddy Posted July 11, 2007 Author Report Posted July 11, 2007 Just a thought about the 21st/22nd....aren't the tides all wrong that weekend? Low tide on the 17th is about 3:25pm, therefore for Saturday it's going to be around 3 hours later? Quote
Squares Posted July 11, 2007 Report Posted July 11, 2007 True tides aren't great, we were thinking of going down on Friday, low is about 15:30 so should get a good afternoon / evening session, then Saturday low is about 16.30ish. Probably just stay for Friday night then head back late Saturday. Braddicks do some camping, not sure how much it is. Will pobably head up to the sw mountain board centre when the tide is in as it's the UK championnships that weekend so could be worth having a look. See what the wind says this time next week........... Quote
Big Daddy Posted July 12, 2007 Author Report Posted July 12, 2007 Been down the field for a couple of hours this evening....nice:D Seems to be a bit bumpy though after the show and the rain. I think you boarders better give it a miss...we don't want you coming off and breaking any bits;). No pub this evening? Just have to carry on with the Baileys then:rolleyes:. Rain tomoz, so no buggying then Mikey!!! Quote
nemo_sushi Posted July 12, 2007 Report Posted July 12, 2007 We went up yesterday and the night before.. was ok.. got some nice airs yesterday.. need a quicker kite to loop on the way down though... Quote
nemo_sushi Posted July 12, 2007 Report Posted July 12, 2007 Heading to eastbourne tomorrow so Sarah can teach the grannies to fly.. Im there to look pretty... Quote
Big Daddy Posted July 15, 2007 Author Report Posted July 15, 2007 Bit quiet around.....rain is a pain:mad: Good few hours out on Saturday afternoon. Good to see all the buggiers down there. No boarders to get in the way;). Looks like the only place without rain is Eastbourne! Hope you are having/had a good time. I might only have to do a day trip somewhere next Saturday. Something has come up on the Friday night..... Quote
Kaskazi Posted July 15, 2007 Report Posted July 15, 2007 We popped down an hour ago but there's nowt (except rain!) - early week forecast looks set for 'thundery and torrential rain' across much of the UK, and particularly the south east! Hope Steve and Sarah aren't still there tonight - could be interesting.... Not sure if next weekends been decided on the the Ho! or the Gower - I assume tides for both will be pretty similar. What tide sources do everyone use? Still buzzing from my first proper ride on the water yesterday, at least a couple of hundred meters in one go! - bring on next weekend... Quote

Big Daddy Posted July 18, 2007 Author Report Posted July 18, 2007 What happened at Eastbourne then? Where is everybody? Evening meet tomorrow? Jim says go for a pizza somewhere. Town at 7:30pm? Quote
nemo_sushi Posted July 18, 2007 Report Posted July 18, 2007 Eastboure was good.. was very hot and I swore at a kite a lot.. Quote
outinthesticks Posted July 18, 2007 Report Posted July 18, 2007 Went to Hudsons on saturday for a bit, just me and Mike up there for a while and then it was just Mike. Got lofted by a freak gust, Mike only saw me coming down but i landed pretty heavy and busted in my ankle . So all my kitesurf gear turned up this week of course, not that i can use it:(. Not looking too windy this weekend either, who's turn it is to have the barbecue? Quote
