Big Daddy Posted January 19, 2008 Author Report Posted January 19, 2008 do u ave the same problem as lordshill a groundsman that calls the police if u leave a few scudd marks after the rugby team trash a pitch Our groundsman is happy with us buggying around and often asks us which pitch he would like to set up for rugby, so they don't get in our way. It's the boy racers who do the doughnuts, who get up his nose. He has often called the police to chase them off. the old guy is fine he didnt do any flying today he was busy filming martin on a buggy when the police arrived treatening to take our kit of us I think he must be getting too old to buggy anyway:rolleyes:. Again, the police have come down to look at what we are up to. They would rather we do this than wreck the place with motors. Would be good to see new dudes if it is dry. Will post up again here tomorrow morning. Quote
Big Daddy Posted January 20, 2008 Author Report Posted January 20, 2008 Looks touch and go whether the rain will hold off. If it does, then I reckon it's worth a trip. Grass is drying in the breeze. I will go and pack me bits anyway and see what happens. Quote
avspider Posted January 20, 2008 Report Posted January 20, 2008 Big D, are you and your motley crew heading to the Ho for the A08?? I didn't buggy yesterday due to the state of the field - it's fecked, very water logged & boggy, the footy is cancelled due to it, and the groundsman was trying to cancel the rugby too, and he has not just complained to the council about us damaging the ground, but also the rugby team as well. Quote
Big Daddy Posted January 24, 2008 Author Report Posted January 24, 2008 Just rescued before page 3. As avspider says, we need to decide pretty soon about going to Atmosphere08 in April. How about a pub meet Friday or saturday. Any preferences. MIke is going away, so last chance to give him a send off. Great fun last Sunday afternoon, at least I had some. Fixed your buggy yet Jim? The weekend looks as though it might be half decent. Going to work now. Quote
V-Max Rider Posted January 24, 2008 Report Posted January 24, 2008 Pub, Sounds good to me, just let me know when and where? I should be out all weekend including tomorrow as I have been off all this week. Where is mike off too then? I will have to see if he is out tomorrow then for a session. Quote
outinthesticks Posted January 25, 2008 Report Posted January 25, 2008 Hopefully going to be out Saturday, field looked pretty slippery last time i was up there? Quote
V-Max Rider Posted January 26, 2008 Report Posted January 26, 2008 All you buggyers missed out on a good session, Wind started off light, 8.5m then worked up to the 4m. There was no football, but the rugby lot came along around 2pm, Rich and Graham turned up and a few others that i have not seen before. There was a big nutter trying to fly, what looked like a 20m Paraglider, this was quite amusing. have a look at the photo Quote
air stiffler Posted January 28, 2008 Report Posted January 28, 2008 Couldn't believe that guy, it was entertaining though!! Hopefuuly see you around again sometime. Quote

Big Daddy Posted January 30, 2008 Author Report Posted January 30, 2008 Saturday looks nice and sunny, but with 10mph and a Nor'westerly, it will be a bit pants. Quote
Big Daddy Posted February 3, 2008 Author Report Posted February 3, 2008 Brilliant 3 hours down the field today. Where was you all. Wind was South 15-25 mph, gusting 35mph or thereabouts, so took some skill to stay in the buggy:eek:. But that is what we get here isn't it. Started to spit a bit after I got home, so timed that well. Busy week, but looking for some decent weather for Sat. :DWales...... Quote
jimabbey Posted February 3, 2008 Report Posted February 3, 2008 Gutted, couldn't get out today, my twins birthday party 14 ten and eleven year olds in the house aaaaagh. Still the little darlings have all gone home now The buggy has been repaired now. I had a catastophic chassis failure both side rails cracked at the front! My mate Ron has done a cracking job he's beefed up the weak points by welding in stringers. So all fit for Wales then an Saturday then? Quote
Big Daddy Posted February 3, 2008 Author Report Posted February 3, 2008 The plan is still to go Jim, but it may not be my motor pulling the craft:mad:. Fleet are being a pain and have to get approval from some high monkey, as a cut is needed. Also waiting for an answer from that contact you gave me. I often wonder how some people actually get on in business. Seen and weather for Saturday yet? Quote

air stiffler Posted February 5, 2008 Report Posted February 5, 2008 XC weather is saying that the Outer Hebrides's is looking good for Saturday :D Will they be racing across the whole beach? Quote
air stiffler Posted February 5, 2008 Report Posted February 5, 2008 on the first page of the race thread Craig says that they only use the wet end of the beach (town side) which would leave the rest of the beach free to use. http://community.flexifoil.com/showthread.php?t=133307 Quote
