Holsten Posted November 20, 2005 Report Posted November 20, 2005 I'm getting a Blade III 4.9 this coming weekend . My mate has one and i've flown it a few times in light winds and it brought an immediate smile to my face.I could feel the awesome power it has when it gusted a few times .So i'm gonna fly it in light winds to start with to get a bit used to it, then step it up gradually. It's just an awesome kite to fly and you know damn well that you better respect it or ELSE. Can't wait for mine to get here Quote
Cornish Blade Posted November 21, 2005 Report Posted November 21, 2005 Just remember to wear a helmet and pad up,when these baby's bite they BITE.The blade needs respect, give it plenty.Don't just think it is a kite like any other as it ain't,throw a blade around hard and it will return do the same to you..but after all that boy the grin factor is off the scale..:D:D:D Quote
Holsten Posted November 23, 2005 Report Posted November 23, 2005 I've just been told by the shop that i was getting my BladeIII 4.9 from that i will have to wait maybe 2 weeks or more for it as they are out of stock . So i'm now considering the 4.0m Blade. So could anyone tell me is there gonna be a vast amount of difference performance wise i.e Lift with the 4.0? as opposed to the 4.9? Thanx Quote
JimC Posted November 23, 2005 Report Posted November 23, 2005 I'd say wait for the 4.9, it will perform better when the wind drops and reading from other posts and what people say it is a good all round kite. Quote

RB Posted November 24, 2005 Report Posted November 24, 2005 Had a 3 and 4 and a 4.9 both amazing, the 3 is just leathal with no float but loads of lift! the 4 is excellent for boarding, not so much lift but excellent for speed the 4.9 is just nuts in the right wind! but its gone now as I dont like the wild beast in naff wind! they can bite damn hard! and dont really give the best float. Master them and your laughing! Quote
hankster Posted November 24, 2005 Report Posted November 24, 2005 i had a blade II 4.9m for a few months and found it just too unpredictable and crap in gusty winds.so i sold it and got a mac bego 600 and wow these kites defo out perform a blade,in fact the 600 will thrash a 6.6m blade.more pull more floaty lift and more predictable.when there's hardly any wind and peeps are looking out of their windows,i'm out flying having fun.in little as 2mph wind,5mph winds & i'm getting good jumps plus pulled all over the place. Robabank Posted November 24, 2005 Report Posted November 24, 2005 i'm interested to know other opinions on the mac bego 600,is it as good or better than 6.6 blade? Quote
hankster Posted November 24, 2005 Report Posted November 24, 2005 if you click on racekites.com click on reviews & there's plenty of mac para bego reviews. Quote
