just noticed this thread and the lack of real beer in it.... for anyone in sydney, please do yourselves a favour and go here - http://www.redoak.com.au/02_00.html

has some of the greatest beers i have ever tasted (out of the hundreds of imported beers i have tried) and none of these light "beers" you speak of. Some contain up to 14% alcohol and you can barely taste it! mmmmmmmmmmm

Peace

Nice one Peace ..... my kind of store :D

WEIZEN DOPPLEBOCK

Silver Medal - Sydney Royal Beer Competition 2007

This beer has never been brewed in Australia before! It is a German style wheat beer with a powerful fruit and spice aroma and a creamy mouthfeel of banana and spices on the palate with a warming taste of alcohol and long complex finish. (8.4%)

I wonder if that's a hangover waiver

I have a cousin who used to brew his own... nothing too exotic, just a couple of different types of the common Coopers ales. But after drinking those home brews, pretty much all commercial beers have tasted like watery crap to me, tho I have to admit not trying too many of the plethora of boutique beers available at so many places today.

I'd love to get into brewing my own, but if I did that, I'd be twice the bloody size I am now (already too big), so that's gotta be off limits for me.. :(

Ha ha JKS,

It's tonic water, to make the wife a gin and tonic. Keeps her happy while I'm drinking beer......and is a good way to earn brownie points for kiting trips, which may help you in your other thread. But it might have to be a cup of tea if JSKG is providing the good stuff for the bub.

Man after my own heart.

I just love the beer fridge. It puts my drinks fridges into second place.

Also like your philosophy for getting your own way with the Mrs.
