extremekitesurf Posted October 6, 2005 Report Posted October 6, 2005 Anyone know where you can buy some sort of small case/wallet to put your keys in whilst kiting? I just thought its probably pretty easy to land on them whilst their in your pocket and stab yourself! They wont really fit in my harness pocket. I've looked on ebay but cant find anything; perhaps not searching for the right keywords? Quote
flyer_gaz Posted October 6, 2005 Report Posted October 6, 2005 keysafe (key haven) is excellent - hook it to your car and no more probs The site i had is not available - anyone have a link ? Quote
Foilman Posted October 6, 2005 Report Posted October 6, 2005 I keep a single 'dumb' key - without the remote fob etc on a piece of dyneema in my harness pocket - doesn't seem to mind getting wet & fits fine alongside my hook knife. Quote
Bobby Posted October 6, 2005 Report Posted October 6, 2005 ...I just thought its probably pretty easy to land on them whilst their in your pocket and stab yourself! Had the same thought myself, one of my daughters had a daft big 'ol kiddies keyring with a 5 inch circular pluto made from very thick plastic. This goes down the front with the plastic against the chest. No probs. Quote
Filthy Posted October 6, 2005 Report Posted October 6, 2005 I use an aqua pack. You can even use it for your phone if you are sad enough! http://www.ifsogo.com/acatalog/keymaster_full.gif Quote
Filthy Posted October 6, 2005 Report Posted October 6, 2005 Thats not me by the way.... Just re read the first post. If you're not worried about getting it wet put it round your neck outside your rashie but inside your wetsuit. Wont get stabbed then. Quote
cubik Posted October 6, 2005 Report Posted October 6, 2005 if you wear boardshorts there is normally a loop of elastic in the pocket just to put keys on? Quote
buzbie Posted October 6, 2005 Report Posted October 6, 2005 packet of fags, buried in the sand and a fake dog turd on top :D:D:D.... No one would even look twice at it..... Quote
Filthy Posted October 6, 2005 Report Posted October 6, 2005 fake dog turd on top :D:D:D.... Christ you don't ride in the south east do you!!! Quote
JohnDave Posted October 6, 2005 Report Posted October 6, 2005 I use a dummy key, no remote and no immobalizer, just let's me open the doors. I then stick this in my pocket (under my harness) if I'm on the land or down my wetsuit if I'm on the water. Try to get a fancy aluminium one though, mine's just steel and rusts! John Quote
extremekitesurf Posted October 6, 2005 Author Report Posted October 6, 2005 Yeah i guess if you put it underneath your wetsuit you wont get stabbed, although the dog turd option is tempting........ Cheers Quote
npeac Posted October 7, 2005 Report Posted October 7, 2005 i use an aquapac and as the key is sharp,a piece of polthene tubing flattened out which slides onto the sharp bit to stop it cutting the pac or me. new keys on bikes tend to have this tube on or just go to the chemist or beer making shop. slider Posted October 7, 2005 Report Posted October 7, 2005 Sounds like a lot of bother to me, I just walk to the beach!!! Quote

FredMurphy Posted October 7, 2005 Report Posted October 7, 2005 keysafe (key haven) is excellent - hook it to your car and no more probs The site i had is not available - anyone have a link ? I've got one I'm not really using if anyone wants one. It looks like a large padlock but it's a mini safe you can put your keys inside. It attaches to the doorhandle/wheel/ towing loop. Cost me £40 - make me an offer. Quote
Active-8 Posted October 7, 2005 Report Posted October 7, 2005 i use a hydropak, it has a pocket with a clip for you phone and keys inside. £15 from the range for a 2ltr pack, sorted my problems Quote

surfinsmiley Posted October 8, 2005 Report Posted October 8, 2005 Bit of string tied on the inside of my harness pocket. Key looped onto that. Easy. Here`s one that a little strange but true! Lock ya keys in the car? Got the push button opening style keys? Got a spare somewhere? OK. .... Call home and get someone to find ya spare. Get them to push the button on the spare while holding it close to the phone. Hold your phone close to the car door. Your car door will magically open! Try it! It works! Quote

FredMurphy Posted October 9, 2005 Report Posted October 9, 2005 So what do you do with the key for the mini safe? It's a combination lock. Try it! It works"So, you've tried it, and it works? Right? I thought not. Of course it won't work. Quote
bigdawg Posted October 10, 2005 Report Posted October 10, 2005 aquapac's the only way to go, you only have to get your key wet once and not be able to turn off your alarm to learn this.... The fake dog turds a good idea but where I live I'd spend all afternoon digging up the beach (and getting covered in real s+*t!!! ) Quote
