Well, it had to happen eventually but this one was a bit of a let down.

Was I lifted out of the buggy at high speed and tossed like a ragdoll down the beach?

No.

Was I launched upwards only to have the gust dissapear and Im thrown to the ground breaking multiple bones?

No.

Does a friend let go of the kite and in an attempt to catch the handle preventing the kite from being blown int the river, resulting in me stubbing my finger on the ground causing a spiral fracture of the LH little finger middle joint and a dislocation of the finger?

Yep, thats the one.

Just come back from the fracture clinic and they have splinted and taped up my little finger to my 4th finger and bandaged up most of my hand.

There goes my chance of getting some flying in this week, and the next 3 weeks for that matter.

Oh well, if its a small concellation, I cant do the washing up for quite some time either.

if that had happened to me, my dad would have said it was ok and told me to just give it a quick rub!!!

PMSL ..............similar to my very sympathetic, supportive parents!! You say "but it hurts if I move it". They say "don't move it then"!!! :p :D

Looks nasty, but without wanting to sound like the man from the HSE, take that feckin ring off when playing so easly to gt caught up. Mate of mine lost a finger 'cos his wedding ring caught in a fence.....

On a scale of 1 to 10? About 3. It really didnt hurt at all when it happened and only ached a bit after discovering what had happened.

The most painful bit was the injection for the local.

As for removing that ring.....guesS you are right. Used to work on a lathe and always removed rings, but since becomming a shinyarse (working in an office) I never really thorght about it. Andd me being a Safety Consultant as well.

But please bear in mind, It was a kite related incident because my friend was flying the kite, this injury could have happened at any time.

Commiserations....

Am currently serving my 3rd week of a possible 6 week Plaster cast sentence following my first major OBe and a fractured meta-tarsal....

Wouldn't be so bad, apart from the perfect conditions for Pembrey tomorrow.. 16mph SW and low tides all day - AR$E

Cast 'supposed' to be coming off a week on monday, but as it's still giving me gip, I can't see it happening......

Going slightly Stir Crazy now....

Anyway, hope it heals well
