have been reading a sales pitch regarding a Baseboard, and was wondering if anyone can shed some light on thier experiences for me...saw a video where they transitioned from sand to water and back to sand....is this consistently do-able? or was it just for the promo?? am very curious to hear any responses...

Hi Mate,

Don't know where the owner of Baseboard has disappeared too, he was finishing his phd or shooting off to italy for a while, he may be back by now.

Anyway, the video the show of the guy on the lake is not zooming over the top of the water. He is on a 3m or so kite and there's no edging against the water.

That said, at Sandy Point last year I watched Justin go into the water with it in about 40 knots powered up on either his G10 or the 13m Scorpion. Not sure which one it was. However he was out there going back and forward on the water.

From a gimmick point of view it worked, but definetly not something you would buy to use in the water.

On land however I have watched goshen ride it and have some fun. It is a complete different style to landboarding, but it can be a lot of fun either way. You should get as much fun out of it as a normal land board.

Regards,

.Joel

I had a turn on one Peter had for a demo some time ago. Being relatively new to kiting and board riding at the time it was a challenge to master (I didn't) actually I remember falling a lot! This was on a grassy field.

From what I have seen of the baseboard, and herd they are very good boards for high speeds, no death wobbles, I think this has something to do with their shape, they have a slight bow (not bow the kite style) in them so when at high speed the front wheel lifts off the ground slightly, essentially making it a 2 wheel board. This is just what I have seen and herd, not sure if it is correct or not.
