I'm currently flying a blade III 4.9m, with a core 16 board. I'm thinking of investing in a new kite. Preferably i would like a good all round kite especially for land and snow boarding. I think i would like a step up in control and a bar set up. Any suggestions?

Yeah i want to keep my 4.9 just expand my general range of winds

Cool. So in your local flying spot, do you tend to get winds that would be aroudn the bottom of the 4.9 range or above? I'm trying to get an idea whether you want to expand the bottom or top end of your range.

If you want something for higher winds and you're up for depower then the smaller frenzy's and sabre's are excellent - provided you fly in quite clean wind i.e. not gusty.

arcs are super stable but you'll need something big as they have a smaller projected area than regular foils.

If you're going for the other end of the range then naturally the bigger frenzy's and sabre's are an option. You could also consider a large blade and stick it on a bar - you won't get depower unless you fit a depower system to it but if it's one that can be removed at speed you'll be getting two kites for the price of one.

I'm currently in bristol and the wind speeds are between 5-15mph, i wouldn't take out my blade unless it was between 15 and 20. So i suppose i need something for the lower wind speeds! I'll be back in edinburgh soon and it tends to be more windy and gusty!!

Test the sabres, just been out with my new 11.5, what a kite!!! just thought i would put it up , wind at about 6mph on the wind meter, worked the kite and got some traveling on the board , then the wind picked up to 10 , keeping my ground and some low jumps. Really fast kite for teh size, predicable and soooo stable, let go of the bar and it just sits where you left it! Also got a 9.5 , this is probably the most versatile size, good from 12mph upward really, was suprised to see the 11.5 felt exactly the same as the 9.5 to fly.

Have never flown a frenzy , but they are well recommended to. Sabres are cheaper tho:)

I hate to admit the two dont go together! Amazing kite but hates gusts! If you can fly on a beach then it will be the daddys ****! unfortunatley I live in gust city with 1 day in 30 being nice and smooth!

Went from a BIII 4.9 to a Sabre 9.5 and the only time the Blade's been out of the bag since is to wash it!! The Sabre cleans up IMHO. Now looking for a 9m ish arc for 20mph+ winds for the cheeky stuff I won't put the Sabre up in :)

have no issues with the gusts, the depower helps ride out the gusts without being yanked off the board, sabre does seem to ride them better than anything else, flown my 9.5 when 3.5 bullets flolding and all over the place, sabre is a good inland kite too - as i said not sure on the frenzies - both designed for snow use, dont remember too much clean wind in the alps? i may be wrong
