Jabberwock Posted March 18, 2005 Report Posted March 18, 2005 got the decorators in? Obviously had more luck with them than Gas Engineers Quote
dmb Posted March 18, 2005 Report Posted March 18, 2005 Sounds like there's a theme in that thread: "... However many members we have the purpose of the BKSA is to look after those members and their interests to the fullest. Introducing a group [buggiers] who are reknowned for causing us problems seems bizarre to me. A bit like Milwall inviting Arsenal to share a supporters coach to travel to and from the match to save on costs ..." Don't know what the relationship between the BKSA and land kiters is like in general, is that thread really typical ? Hope not - if a kitesurfer ever hits a swimmer they might like some help fighting bans like the rest of us. Quote
GaRRy Posted March 21, 2005 Report Posted March 21, 2005 So when have us buggiers caused problems for kite surfers ?. Do you think they would care to give us examples ?. Oh and which sport is it that keeps getting mentioned in national papers for yet another one of its members managing to seriously hurt themselves ? Quote
the_lone_wolf Posted March 21, 2005 Report Posted March 21, 2005 it unfortunately sounds like a case of "arrogent kitesurfer syndrome":( Quote
neilj37 Posted March 21, 2005 Report Posted March 21, 2005 Oh and which sport is it that keeps getting mentioned in national papers for yet another one of its members managing to seriously hurt themselves ? Got to agree with Garry it always seems to be the kitesurfers that manage to get themselves into the papers for injuring themselves or others. I only know a few kitesurfers who also buggy and board so we get on ok, but is it just me or is there a slight hint of snobbery to kite surfing ?? Quote
daft mick Posted March 21, 2005 Report Posted March 21, 2005 Its good to see how a well run organisation works. At least there is no bickering between the members or comittee??????? Reading things like this really p*ss*s me off. The bottom line is that we are all power / traction kite flyers whatever medium we use to operate in / on. I have read of bans for both buggies and kitesurfers around the country. Surely it would make sense to all sing from the same hymn book for once and protect everyones interests? After all, there is plenty of beach and sea around the country for us ALL to enjoy. BTW, we might be an unruly lot in our wind powered chariots, but I'm sure its better than smashing places to bits and fighting like the f**tb*llers seem to do? W*nk*rs. That really should be made illegal. Rant over. Mick Quote
mick Posted March 21, 2005 Report Posted March 21, 2005 Had the misfortune to be in a windsurfing comp a few years back. It was combined wind/kite surf do. The friggin kite surfers were so arrogant. I also kite surf a bit, buggy a lot. Am I arrogant. No. and i'll friggin do anybody that says different. Quote
Boldbunny Posted March 21, 2005 Report Posted March 21, 2005 If you think buggiers are unrulyand rowdy and kite surfers are arrogant you might as well steer well clear of land yachters. beer guzzling crack smokin` car stealin nose pickers the lot of em. yeah. prob`ly and they dont use kites...........but sails.can you imagine, no strings attached to wind traction.
