New Years day down at Breen, great fun but we did kill 2 kites, then the big wind hit force 10 gusts we recorded! What a blast certainly cured the New years hangover! mr_rix23 Posted January 4, 2005 Author Report Posted January 4, 2005 Well it really stared gusting as a front passed over the beach so we got the 4 liners away and put up my sisters stacker and my 2 line ram thingy, they both had the lines snap and got blown into all the nasty jaggedy bushes. That i guess was the que to run away as the wind started gusting evenharder no idea but must have been around force 9 - 10 as we were having trouble walking back to the car!!!! Quote

Some years ago at Beachy Head my My Quadro pulled it's stake out and as it shot across the field the handles caught in the bridle of another Quadro, that to came off it's stake. Two of us ran and leapt on the handles but by this time the kite was spinning at high speed generating huge amounts of power, enough to drag us running, and sliding on our backsides, about 100 yards! h3in Posted January 5, 2005 Report Posted January 5, 2005 It is windy when you arrive at the beach only with a yoz 4.8 and as you step out of the car you hear on the radio that there are gust up to 70km/h (8+ bft) and you feel immediately what they ment on the radion one big gust trying to put you back in the car Quote
