airwalk Posted July 20, 2004 Report Posted July 20, 2004 anybody flown on langenith beach on the gower recently? I am heading down there this weekend to check it out. Any local flyers meet up down there? i have flown there once and was the only kiter apart from a few kite surfers in the sea. Quote
KiteBoyStu Posted July 21, 2004 Report Posted July 21, 2004 langenith beach ROCKS!!!!. It's my favourite buggy spot at the moment. we go there from Trowbridge near Bath all the time in our VW camper. advice is as follows: check tide times on net or in surf shop before you get there and you've missed it. Park at the Langenith end of Rossili beach where theres a campsite, toiletsm showers, a shop and a huge car park (£2 to £3) don't park at the worms head hotel end cos its a steep load of steps and a long walk down the beach to the safe area. cross the dunes from the car park and head right along the beach and cross the little stream to get away from the tourists everyone seems to play there. theres loads of room and the sand is hard all over - no soft spots ENJOY!!!! airwalk Posted July 23, 2004 Author Report Posted July 23, 2004 Hillend is the closest to the beach, where all the surfers camp i think, expensive but ifthe weathers right well worth it i reckon. i will be down there about 9 ish, im driving a blue/green corsa m reg. At the moment its just meand the misses, so im hoping its sunny and windy, so i can fly all day and she'll be happy sunbathing. see you down there josbod:D Quote
JosBod Posted July 26, 2004 Report Posted July 26, 2004 Llangenith was amazing !! , The wind was directly on to the beach so u could just go straight up and straight back down again (even i could do it !!). Saturday mornin was a bit calm (well it was at 7.30am !!) but soon picked up and was a dream for boarding. I recommend it to everyone, even the missus enjoyed it !!!. Will post up some more info when i get more time. Quote
Adrena1in Posted July 26, 2004 Report Posted July 26, 2004 I was looking at my Wales map last week, as I was in Pembrokeshire, and noticed Rhossili looking like a good beach, and was wondering about any restrictions there. Heck, I'd even take a day trip from where I live, (170 miles away), to enjoy a few good hours boarding on a good beach. You just can't beat it. Good info, everyone. Quote
JosBod Posted July 26, 2004 Report Posted July 26, 2004 No restrictions really, there's plenty of room for everyone. All the kiters seem to gather over one side (past the stream) and the tourists over the other. Get the occasional suicidal tourist standing 25m in front of you but think you get that every where. If you are traveling a long way make sure u get there before 9 coz the campsite fills up very quickly Quote
