SandMonster Posted July 13, 2004 Report Posted July 13, 2004 im going to criccieth from the 23rd /7/04 till the 6th/8/04 any one tell me where to buggy please..Officially, no buggying on Black Rock Sands until September....but people have gone on in off-peak times eg when its windy/rainy & there's no one on the beach and they've been allowed. If not then Harlech beach can be OK. Call in or phone at the llandudno junction kite shop (Turbulence?) the guys there know whats what Quote

MCA Posted July 14, 2004 Report Posted July 14, 2004 I was at Blackrock sands last week (5 miles from criccieth in car - 1 mile if you follow the coast!). I heard that it was ok to go after 8pm - as that's when the wardens close the access barriers. Tried that a few nights and no problem at all - even when the police came on to the beach to assist a car that had been locked on the beach! I had my mountain board - there were no other kiters there. I'd advise you to go quite far to the left of the beach...to stay out of the way of the dog walkers and holiday makers that go near the cliff end. Later on in the week I found a few guys setting up a LEI at 2pm in the afternoon. The wardens drove up the beach past him and didn't say anything. Still I didn't want to risk it and waited 8pm - that still gives 2 good hours of kiting/boarding. Just make sure you've got your insurance sorted before you go - just in case. Quote

MCA Posted July 14, 2004 Report Posted July 14, 2004 I know it's all 8ollocks really. Sometimes I wish it was like the good old days (6 or 7 years ago) when no-one had even heard of kite buggying and you could do it wherever you wanted! Aaaah...those were the days! ;-) Quote
